Over at the UHD Jericho forum they have started a watch of the week thread, so I'm duplicating the thread here.

This week we are watching episode 2, Fallout.

The Tuesday Night Ranger Watchers are also doing the Watch of the Week, so you are invited to watch with us and chat about the episode.

We meet at the JK chat room on Tuesday nights 5 pm Pacific/ 8 pm Eastern.

Remember to log in at JK: http://www.Jericho-Kansas.com and go to the chat for members under the community menu. Once you are in the chat room please type “hello” so you show up on the dialog window. The window you type in is below the chat dialog window and to the left of the send button.

Have your DVD ready for the chat and if you can’t watch and chat, then just chat along with us.

Remember to come back to this thread and post about the episode.

Gwen

We had a great chat yesterday.

When Fallout first premiered, I was wondering what direction this series would take. The ending scene, as we hear Hawkins taking out pin after pin for the map of the cities hit, was what sold me on this series. I wanted to know more about what was happening in the US and in the rest of the world. We never did find out what happened in the rest of the world and that is one reason I want the show back.

The Jericho Medical Center was the production office, with a medical center sign attached. The medical center was around the corner from the Jericho main street set (built in the parking lot between two sound stages). I wonder if when Jake drove the bus from the medical center to the townhall, if they actually filmed that as one long scene.

Feel free to make your own comments about Fallout.

I agree Gwen. The Fallout episode was very powerful. All of the occurrences in that episode (& actually in the first three episodes) were true to life. Jake turning the corner and seeing the mushroom cloud for the first time, Jake staring at the storm cell coming in worried about the acid rain, Emily standing in the middle of a pile of dead birds, Mimi panicking when she touched the residue from the rain, Stanley coming out of the rain and them fearing he would die from the radiation and of course as you stated the ending of Fallout was extremely powerful when Hawkins was pulling out the pins and sticking them in the map.

The show really made you think what would we do if there was an actual nuclear war! With that threat always looming above us you always wonder if it will be in your lifetime or not......

I actually became intrigued by the shows preview pilot commercial showing the detination of the nuclear bomb. I have always been fascinated by natural disasters and things that have to do with outer space. That is why I initially tuned in. In the beginning was wondering how the show was going to progress or if it would just go nowhere and just be a bunch of people looking for shelter and trying not to die from radiation poisoning, but they suprised me by coming up with such a compelling story!!!!

As for the bus scene I cannot answer that but I do know they asked Skeet if he could actually drive a bus and he said he could so they let him do it instead of using a driver double. His stepfather is D.K Ulrich and his Uncle is Ricky Rudd both NASCAR drivers so I think he can drive just about anything.......

Other shows I find fascinating are Jessie Ventura Conspiracy Theory and Brad Metzler's Decoded.

The music in this episode - Hold on was written by David Lawrence and Jon Turteltaub.

I loved the song at the end of Fallout right away. It fit the scene perfectly. When I found out Jon Turteltaub co-wrote it I was amazed. I am also disappointed that they never made a Jericho Soundtrack as the music they played on the show was awesome.

I wonder if the song Hold On is available anywhere?????

I've been thinking about the Jericho soundtracks a lot recently. They were all so awesome on TV. I know some of the music is different on the DVD, does anyone know the details. Do we have any lists? I have DVDs taped from TV for the second season but not the first. I intend to watch & make notes on those... one of these days! Any info would be appreciated.

I know there is a list somewhere on the internet. I had seen it once. You can probably call it up by putting in Where can I listen to music from Jericho soundtrack.

I know a few of them.

Hold On by David Lawrence and Jon Turteltaub (Fallout)
Mad World by Gary Jules (One Man's Terrorist)
9 Crimes by Damien Rice (Oversight)
All These Things I've Done by the Killers (Pilot)
Times Like These by the Foo Fighters (Coalition of the Willing)
Better Days by the Goo Goo Dolls (Pilot)
Come Home by One Republic
Run by Snow Patrol
World by Five for Fighting
Til Kingdom Come by Coldplay
Hold on to Nothing by David Gray

Those are all I know...Watched each episode enough to even remember which episode some of them were played in (sad I even know what scene they were played during). Hope that helps......
