Can't wait. As for any possible continuity errors They don't bother me, since I don't really read Buffy Season 8.
The more I read Brian's Spike stories the more that I fall in love with Betta George. |

The adverts on that site drive me nuts. I lose the will to live waiting for the stupid things to upload.
Is 'frightfully cooler' still there? That really bugs me. It's so horribly wrong. _________________ Aargh! 'Shippers! There goes the neighbourhood. |

Still there; it looks like only typo's were corrected.
I'm glad to see the Urru cover is the regular one. Bring on Wednesday! (Or in my case, Thursday or Friday.) |

:sigh: It really throws me out of the story when a British character says something that no Brit - especially not an Americanised one - would ever say. The same thing happened with Brian K Vaughan's Faith arc in the Buffy comic. There were so many horrible mistakes with language and setting that I just couldn't appreciate the story. Everyone else was saying how good it was, I was saying, but no one ever speaks or acts like that, outside of stupid Hollywood movies written by people who know nothing about the UK.
Oh well, this is just one small mistake. I can live with it. And it does look good apart from that. Roll on tomorrow. _________________ Aargh! 'Shippers! There goes the neighbourhood. |

I took the "frightfully" to be used not in an attempted Britishism but in the sense of "fright" as in horror genre wordplay- frightfest, fright-night, fright-filled. Kinda like how you can't avoid "shocking" when Frankenstein is involved... I suddenly want to watch old Peter Cushing movies now. Like the phrasage sounds like someone saying "scary cool" but I object to the "cooler" part of it 'cause the last time Spike said "cool" he was drunk as hell and about to sleep it off in Angel's begonias.
I'm still trying to bribe my comic book guy to start ordering the Spike books, but he's got a stock pile of Angel: Aftermath and BtVS: Season Eight comics that couldn't be sold, so he says he won't order any more. _________________ :: Please, visit my Deviantart gallery. :: |

I didn't take "frightfully" to be Brit-speak at all.
My review of the issue (and others!) is here: http://buffyversecomics.blogspot.com/2010/11/angel-38-illyria-1-spike-2.html
As far as continuity, I don't mind much. What Mariah said makes sense enough to me, and the stories are good enough for me to just rock with it. The teams behind Angel, Spike, and Illyria are the best teams the books've ever had, so I'm just excited to see what comes next! _________________ http://patrickshand.blogspot.com/ |

I have my copies of Spike #2 of 8 and Illyria:Haunted #1 0f 4.I don't really have tome to post dialog right now but both issues have some juicy things on that front.
Spike #2
Wolfram and Hart is back and they've staked claims in Vegas. Not on Spike's watch.
Poor Jeremy
Yes Jeremy is back and he's been possessed by a representative of Wolfram and Hart. They chose him because they knew Spike wouldn't hurt/kill his friend and he'll have to hear him out.If Angel had shown up they would of trapped Cordelia's essence in some object. If Connor had shown up they would brought in a proto ooze version of Darla.Since it was Spike who has shown up they are willing to make a deal since Spike knows that there is evil and then there is EVIL!.Wolfram and Hart is rebuilding after there blow in L.A..This casino is one of those projects. They'll leave the good people alone and only focus on certain people at their casino. If Spike leaves Wolfram and Hart alone in Vegas then they'll let Spike keep tabs and monitor their activities. They'll even give Spike a 15 grand a night penthouse suite at their casino if he's willing to work with W&H.Shades of Angel season 5 which Spike points out.He tells them to take a flying leap and that's when John, the guy with Dru steps in.Good thing Groo flies in to lend a hand at the end of the issue(Spike sent Beck to get Groo as backup before he went to speak with possessed Jeremy).
Thought this was a fun issue but waiting for more info on John. |

Hey guys, I'm in England right now (HOME OF SPIKE!) but flying home tomorrow. Hope you enjoy the issue. Haven't seen the final product yet, only PDFs but really happy how it came out.
Sorry to the one person that didn't like the word "frightfully". Truth is, Americans say it sometimes, and Spike hangs out with Americans, so he picked it up. Anyway, he says it the once, so it's okay. But be on the lookout for my new Dark Horse series SPIKE:I'M FRIGHTFULLY BACK, FRIGHTFULLY, next August. |

Got my copy!
Other than a few typos (mainly its vs. it's type stuff), it was good.
Loved how Groo showed up.
Beck and George had some great lines. I loved how Beck offered to burn W&H down. LOL
I'm gonna be frightfully disappointed if we don't find out more about this John fella soon. |

| I got my today also. I loved it. I wonder if Spike killed John's family. Or maybe he is Drew's new pet. He seems pretty concerned about her. |

I seem to remember Giles was given dialog that used the world. As far the the continuity - mainly it just read like a wink/joke at Buffy Season 8, same as the Beck "It's a trap" which is what Buffy tells Twangel in the "Twilight LaLaLand" morning after.
Hope BL is not going to try and do any "romance" in this series - Spike needs so major alone time, and that includes the ladies. Drusilla on the scene will be very interesting, it will be interesting to see what treatment he does. |

It's great news to see that you will be doing the Dark Horse Spike series - congratulations - I look forward to reading your "Spike" in 2011. |

Hope you enjoyed yourself in the UK, and frightfully sorry if I offended you. You see, we use 'frightfully' too, just not the way Spike does in this book. If Americans use it differently, I've never seen it before, hence the confusion.
Anyway, looking forward to reading the issue later today. _________________ Aargh! 'Shippers! There goes the neighbourhood. |
