I’m ordering my issues from UK ebay sellers, usually I’ve received them after 10 days, but the shipping of the last issue took me 25 days. I’ve even write to the seller to ask him about the delay, but he/she told me that wasn’t by their fault…

Sorry you guys are having trouble with the shipments this week.
I'm suposed to go on a two week trip to Italy at the end of May and I'm worried that the Volcanoe will cause problems with the travel.I fly into Heathrow and then go from Heathrow to Rome. |

Oh, I'm really jealous of you! Rome is wonderful. I once went there on a school trip and I've always wanted to go back. No such luck so far though.
They do say that flying is completely safe again now; let's hope that things stay that way. |

I’ve never been in Rome, but I’ve been in Heathrow so many times!
That was joke, but is true! I have relatives in England.
Enjoy your trip, Buffyversefantic! Good luck, honey!
Ohhh, and I’ve just received a message from the comics book seller – my comics has been dispatched today! Yuuupyy! _________________

Anyone else in UK/Ireland had that problem?I was so dissapointed when I went into the store after travelling for 30 mins to get there only to be told there were 'shipping difficulties'. I dont understand how this weeks comics can be affected still. |

Me too. I think there must be a big backlog of airfreight. _________________ Aargh! 'Shippers! There goes the neighbourhood. |

My thoughts on the issue:
I mostly enjoyed this issue. But man, is Connor being a dick right now. From the preview I assumed Connor and Gunn were deliberately bickering in front of Felecia in order to get her to open up. Turns out they were actually bickering. That's really unprofessional of Gunn, but it doesn't justify Conner's harsh treatment of Gunn afterward. Gunn's been fighting evil way longer than anyone in that group with the possible exception of James. Connor was a total jerk in that scene and I don't blame Gunn for quitting. Gunn has some very valid points: he didn't have a soul when he committed his atrocities and technically those atrocities never really happened due to the reset. It's not like Connor's track record is squeaky clean either. I'm enjoying that drama and I'm wondering what Angel will think when he finds out about it. For a while I was worried that Connor would turn into a Gary Stu character with no flaws, but it's good to see that's not the case. The false memories may have made him better adjusted to life in LA, but that little bitch side of him we saw in seasons 3 and 4 is still clearly there.
Overall, I'd say the characterization in this issue was certainly a step up from what we've seen so far. Was nice to see Dez do something noteworthy too.
I'm wondering why Gwen is still stealing stuff. Isn't she trying to stay on the straight and narrow? Doesn't she already live in a flashy penthouse appartment? Doesn't she already have the LISA device to switch off her electricity? Why does she still need to steal? |

Maybe she's addicted to the thrill? What else is there in her life? She doesn't have friends or, presumably, a boyfriend. The only people she knows are criminals like her or Team Angel, where she is not wanted.
There is also the possibility that she is doing something she thinks is right. I don't think she's given up on trying to make up for her betrayal in After the Fall. Now that I think about it, her betrayal is probably the thing that has him so anti-Gunn right now and not the fact that Gunn "killed" him. If I'm correct, Gwen's betrayal happened because she was working with Gunn.
I wonder when she will show up again. Lots of layers here. |

The solicitation for Issue 33 says, "Now that Angel is back in the fold, Connor must readjust to life as the Chosen One’s son." Issue 34 then says, "In the Angel family 'like father, like son' takes on a whole new meaning. With prophecies practically falling from the sky, Connor and Angel must figure out how to work together without getting back into bad habits." All that suggests to me is we're about to see a whole of old Connor showing up. Gone a bit power mad. And I really hope if he does, Angel puts him back in his place. _________________ I'm so glad I'm an Asshole! |

I read the issue today & I enjoyed it immensely. I thought Connor & Gunn's argument was pretty intense. Angel & Ilyria tearing up the place was hilariously awesome & Laura Weathermill is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. It was one time in this current run where I can picture what I was reading as the T.V show. _________________

Nice to hear that characterisation is getting better and that people have been enjoying the latest issue. The Gunn/Connor confrontation sounds interesting (and painful). I wonder how this will develop.
I have a trivial question for those of you who have read the issue: did Angel remain Hulk-sized throughout the entire issue or did he return to more normal proportions after that first preview panel? (Just interested to know if my little theory about that panel was correct or not.) |

No,he was only Hulk-sized in that one instance. The rest of Angel's appearances in the issue,he's normal sized. He is pretty much nude though the whole issue.Kate even points out that Angel is um pantless. |

She would bloody notice. She's the one who wants to go all Courteney Cox on Connor's scrawny ass. Dirty cow! _________________ I'm so glad I'm an Asshole! |

I thought the issue was pretty poor. Probably one of the worst ongoing Angel issue yet for me. I thought it was full of incosistent character moments and poor dialogue. On the plus side, another issue with overall fantastic artwork.
Was the argument between Gunn and Connor funny? Sure but the whole conversation felt wrong to me. The only thing that felt right was Gunn leaving at the end of it.
Has the characterization been getting better? Maybe a little bit but I can't imagine the people in Joss Whedon's camp being very satisfied with what's been coming out the past few months. |

Good! Thanks. That's what I thought.

Ha, so there's a common theme with the latest Buffy issue

I thought it's Illyria who is interested in Connor? But maybe you're talking about something else (I don't get the Courteney Cox reference). |

Yes, Illyria is, but Kate called him Cougar bait. Courteney Cox stars in Cougar town where old women have sex with young men. So, I just made the link.
And Nightcraws, I for one am not happy with Whedon's work of late. Buffy Season 8... welll, the jury's still out on that one. The ongoing has bright moments and looks to be picking up now, but the past few months have just seemed really bad. Hopefully the pay off is big. Barbary Coast got good reviews, as did Lorne, but aside from that there's not much good. Maybe Btvs S8 #35 will make things look a little bit rosier. _________________ I'm so glad I'm an Asshole! |
