Okay peoples, looks like it's up to us to generate some heat for this bad boy. So if anyone wants to win an original Springer sketch by me, buy signed copies of LAST STAND OF THE WRECKERS #1, witness actual non-TF comic artists drawing a Wrecker-a-day all week and listen to me on a podcast, please visit nickroche.blogspot.com as well as eclecticmicks.com, home to sneaky Wrecker hints for the last six months!

Also, as I'm currently not signed up to many of the bigger TF sites, if someone could throw a link to my blog and the bumber crop of Wrecker info that lies within, I'd be ever-so grateful. In fact, thanks already to the chaps and chapettes who are flying the Wreckers flag all over the web already.

Wreck 'n' Rule!

Big thanks, sir! I love your stuff, by the way. I've checked out your schamizzle on a number of occasions. Great stuff!

Nick, if I lived in Dublin I'd be there getting both covers and the Hutch RI cover signed. I guess I'll have to wait until later though Sad

BTW, I will be buying every cover variant on the Wreckers.

Well, it's like Christmas Eve here at Roche 'n' Roberts Towers. Nick is running around in his Arcee underpants, flaunting his Sparkplug Witwicky transfers and singing 'Nothing's Gonna Stand In Our Way' in his lilting Irish brogue.

I really want to hint at what's to come in the next 48 hours - I want to post a big bloody Next Week box like they did in the Marvel UK Transformers comic - but it's one of those situations where less is more, I suppose.

And hats off to everyone who is buying this an issue at a time. It's supposed to be read that way, with great big cliffhangers and the rest.

'Last Stand...' has mystery. And intrigue, oh yes. And hints and teases and nods and winks that are intended (and you'll tell us if this isn't the case) to create - what's the word? - suspense.

Between issues Nick and I want to see these boards ablaze with speculation: 'What did X mean by that?' 'Who is X?' 'Why did X act that way around Y?' (God, you're going to LOVE the Alphacons and their ambiguous inter-relationships).

And fanfiction! Bring it on! If people take these five issues and build on them, fantastic! As I've said before, Nick and I could've filled another five issues. To hell with decompressed storytelling: these issues are CRAMMED.

I'm sorry if this reads like another sales pitch. I'm just excited. You know when you make a playlist for someone -- you're not doing it to flaunt your musical taste (well, not always; not unless it's a Dirty Projectors track); you're doing it because you're excited about how they will react; because you think these are good songs and you know they have similar tastes and you think it'll make them feel the same way you felt. Well that's how it is with LSoTW, and us, and you.

Extended metaphor over. But, since we're talking about songs, here's one song that I've been playing and playing during the writing process:

Listen to it, and in a very roundabout way get an advance preview of Last Stand of the Wreckers... issue four, to be exact. Oh yes.

I'm more excited than I was at Christmas.

And here's a five word preview of issue 1:

slit...
whimsical...
stewardess...
sexism...

and (go on, have three for the price of one)...

Decepticon Justice Division.

Four of those five words... ;P

And the last three, I'm gonna run away and hide. With a grenade launcher. Razz
