I can't WAIT to see this film. Cage is PERFECTLY CAST. He brings a gravitas to the role that a lesser actor would be sorely lacking (can you imagine the snarky lead from one of those dreadful police forensics show liks CSI or Bones in the lead? gah).
Everyone is perfectly cast. And the action is non-stop.
It really makes you believe that that's how people would react if LA was sent to hell and filled with vampires and daemons.
My only complaint, and I have this with a lot of shows and films is that there's not enough Amy Acker. She's awesome. Dunno who she'd play though.
Spike? Wes' sister maybe??
As for IDW's comic - perfect. Hits all the beats of the film, and even offers some expanded background for some of the characters (something you can't do, even in a three hour long film). _________________ Ohh 'Eck!

To whoever voted for the TV series -
I bet you're the sort of person who wants vampires to have babies aren't you?
You'd SERIOUSLY think that David Boneyarse or whatever his name is is better then Nick Cage? Come on - he was GHOST RIDER. You can't get more hardcore then that.
I bet you'd make Gunn black too.
You're a pillock and if I ever find out who you are, I'm going to get you banned for crass stupidity. _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

I voted for awesome. Not that I've seen either the film or read the comic just yet, but I'm basing my opinion on the preview pages.
DanielW I don't actually mind the guy from Bones. He's an okay actor, but for me, Angel will always be Nick Cage.
And yeah, with a TV series they would probably go overboard with the political correctness. They would totally make Gunn a black guy and they probably wouldn't even let him use a gun. Even though his name basically calls for it. Also, a TV series wouln't be able to have all the explosions that a movie like this needs.
I'm seeing this on opening night. I'll get the comic too, to show my support for the franchise, but I'm not that excited about it. I mean, backstory on the characters is great and all but my main concern is canon. How canon is the comic compared to the movie? |

I also voted for awesome based on the trailer.
I bet Nic Cage will get at least a nomination for this role, but I'm secretly hoping for the Greta Garbo look-alike also to be acclaimed (she brings back the Hollywood glamor)
I haven't seen in along time a guy with bones in TV series (except that "24" guy), so are you referring to the afroman from Dido's clip? |

| I've already heard rumblings of Oscar nominations for Nicolas Cage. I can't imagine anyone else in this role. I'm hoping that they release a directors cut on DVD that includes the much raved about sex scene between the characters Angel and Spike that had to be cut out because most people wouldn't be able to handle the hseer awesomeness of it. |

That was the sort of "so bad it's good" that can only be created by someone deeply taking the piss out of the industry.
I still love the Vampirus Rex. _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

I finally got it and read it. I laughed so hard that my dog start barking at me.
Nobody broods like Cage, the next annual will be the sequel or the prequel, the members of the band definitely sold their souls to Satan and the sexiness of Spike seduced the devil.
Thank you, guys. |

Got my copy today it was awesome. I think the story could totally be fleshed out some more with a few sequals, prequals, spinoffs and Saturday morning cartoons.
Now that everything has been reset, Overlorne is still lurking out there somewhere... not to mention the Wolf, Ram and Hart. |
