Hmmm Red Shadows ..... It's almost shameful to admit, but I've been a diehard Joe fan since their 3 3/4 inception and yet it wasn't until today that I somehow stumbled upon the history of Baron Ironblood and his Shadowy Minions.

Thank the General that YoJoe had an announcement about some comic book entitled Action Force: Red Dawn will soon be for sale. I thought Action Force ... sounds familiar .... the UK equivalent of Marvels run right, or so I thought .... but the logo was somehow different.

I was curious .... so I clicked.

BOOM! Suddenly I was enlightened to a rich history of Joe fandom that stretched beyond my familiar Marvel mythos. Instantly I became a fan of The Red Shadows.

With that said, a question that has been burning in the back of my mind may have finally found resolution .... maybe ... possibly.

Something has been troubling me with GI Joe: Cobra. It's those red clad guys. I kept thinking ... they're red ... they were first introduced in a Cobra compound .... yet those uniforms didn't scream Crimson Guard. Something just wasn't right.

Now that I read through Action Force I know exactly what they scream ...
The Red Shadows!

Could this be? Gi Joe: Cobra is a phenomenal story in its own right, but now with this possibility I'm more intrigued than ever.

Shall I say it ... thank you IDW for making this an ongoing series .... it truely deserves it! Very Happy

IM sure hoping IDW brings them into thier JOE comics as well! there just too good not to be used.

Cobra should always be the main enemy of GI JOE but I do want to see things like the RED SHADOWS and even SKAR should be used, I keep hoping chimera in Origins turns out to be the RED SHADOWS

i'm ALL for the red shadows if done correctly and if those dudes are the crimson guard, i am disappointed. i want the true uniforms used as i do most other characters. my toy buying came to a screeching halt when i didn't have any comic designs available at wal-mart. these are classic designs, idw, let's use the classic stuff and just throw it against the wall and see what new continuity spreads. again, red shadows would rock and i seem to remember ryall saying the red shadows would be a part of this new continuity.

If IDW will use the Red Shadows, it better be as seen in the Brit comic, NOT as DDP misconcieved them with their 'environmental concerns' nonsense.
