|

From Ryall's blog: Ryalltime
A new series illustrated by the master, David Messina, starts in July. The image is of a young Spock. And if you look in the url of the image itself it is labeled "Spock #1". Will the name of the series be STAR TREK: SPOCK? I'm very, very interested.
Here's the image itself:

looks good
Ryall said there was a Countdown spin-off in July drawn by Messina...so perhaps this is the same book? _________________ "Let us make sure, that history never forgets the name...Enterprise."--Captain Picard |

That's what I'm thinking too. I could be wrong but the Spock image seems to be a cross between Quinto and a young Nimoy. Maybe this is the life story of Spock. _________________

Given the prominent presence of the IDIC medallion, I'm inclined to believe the title will, in some way, reflect that. _________________ The preceding post is OK to print. |

looks cool, can't to wait to have it because with a comic done by Messina I can't imagine what can go wrong!

July is after the release of the film, so perhaps it has something to do with the (highlight to read) repercussions from the destruction of Vulcan in the film, with the Enterprise under Kirk and his (mostly) untested crew finding the survivors and then finding them a new home.
It's what I'd do. _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

| I'm amazed--and thrilled--that Marvel or DC didn't snatch this guy up yet. He's crazy-talented.

I have to admit this sounds really cool and (even cooler) a bit like BSG (maybe they find 12 models of the Borg ).... with this comic it's more an more likely that ST XI actually is set in a parallel Universe...
Is the Series named 'The Future begins?' _________________ 'Play with friends, be a Hero!'

Looks like it's his, from his own DeviantArt page.
Nice work!
Ah, and I see he's from my old home town. I miss San Jose... |

I think Mr. Messina has talent, but I would like to see him do less swipes in future work. So much of Countdown was based on stills taken from the trailer, or even some TNG publicity shots. Perhaps that was an artistic decision passed down from Bad Robot, to give stronger visual ties to the film, but I would prefer less myself... _________________ WWCCD? |
