Off the top of my head there were Keenser, the Kelvin bridge person, the Kelvin doctor with the big eyes, the guy with the long face in the bar in Iowa, a shortish alien with brown skin on the Enterprise bridge at some point, plus a couple of random aliens in some of the Academy scenes.
The aliens first contact with aliens is an interesting idea, but I wouldnt want it to be a regular feature, just used when then's a story to tell. _________________ Numerically challenged drone

good call on the other aliens, I was able to scrape up images of the big-eyed doc and the long faced bar dude as well as Keenser and Alnschloss the Arex wannabe!
I am always surprised at the shortage of detailed information on background characters. The Star Wars homebase always manages to give the most obscure characters rich and developed backgrounds, I wish the holders of the Trek Universe would delve as deep on every little detail. |

maybe they could start a ST Reboot-Spotlight-Series featuring these new species.... could be Alien Spotlight III... _________________ 'Play with friends, be a Hero!'

I thought a bit about possible Spotlight Series, how about that:
- Spotlight Xindi: a stand-alone miniseries featuring all races of the Xindi (yes, the Avians too!), maybe trough the times with the last issue being about the Xindi Reptilian serving at the big J
- Spotlight about non-humanoid species like the Kelvans, the Medusans or the Hortas (there already is one great short-story about them) _________________ 'Play with friends, be a Hero!'

I really liked this little side-kick of Scotty, hope ST XII will feature him too... would be a nice addon to the ST Reboot-Crew _________________ 'Play with friends, be a Hero!'

I really like the "salt vampire" one. I'd love to see that creature re-visited in an upcoming film. _________________

Could be a challenging one, given the last one died in the episode! Could maybe be the story of Dr Crater? Or the story of how the race gradually became extinct (I love to see that one myself) or some revelation that it wasnt actually the last one! (which could be a nice twist) _________________ Numerically challenged drone

Trekmovie.com has provided images of both covers and a 5 page preview!
I gotta say this looks like it's gonna be a really fun issue and I'm really happy to see a TNG book coming out for once, especially one that's in the movie years.
Also, I've always liked Joe Corroney's cover...but what the heck is going on with Riker!? He looks like a 4 year old riding one of those spaceship rides in front of the Wal-Mart _________________ "Let us make sure, that history never forgets the name...Enterprise."--Captain Picard |

Bought 'Q' today...over all it was a very fun issue, which a Q story should be. The idea of Q possessing Picard's body I thought was a clever plot device. And I loved seeing Picard's floating head around Q, I doubt that'd work in an episode, but here for a comic, it was great.
Over all the art was good, very similar to Messina's I noticed. Maybe IDW is purposefully hiring people that can copy his style. But I thought it was still good, even with a couple awkward poses by Picard...at least no where near as bad as the way Riker looks on Corroney's cover
'Q' is definitely a great addition to the Alien Spotlight series.
I hope we find out soon what the next issue will be about. _________________ "Let us make sure, that history never forgets the name...Enterprise."--Captain Picard |

I agree it was a really fun issue. Not entirely convinced about the floating head idea, but I thought the alien designs were very good.

I believe they are not just looking for similar styled artists, but recruiting them from the David Messina's studio.

According to a recent listing on Amazon the next (and final) issue of the series is Cardassians, and as the omnibus is listed for March release it looks like we wont get it until December sort of time! (And I wonder TNG, TOS, or DS9 maybe?) _________________ Numerically challenged drone
