you could do something like dark horse did with there star wars classic line. |
Pocket Books have previously looked into it and found the legal situation more of a mess than it's worth them trying to sort out. _________________ Numerically challenged drone

Any chance of the likes of E.J. Su or Nick Roche on any of the Trek titles? Covers or interior art.

| any chance for a transformers/star trek cross-over? I know it would be weird, but i think it could be interesting. Afterall, marvel did an Xmen/star trek crossover. They made that work, kinda. |

We keep the likes of E.J. and Nick pretty busy so probably not a 5 or 6 issue series. But a Spotlight issue... You never know. _________________ Peace...

Doubtful. With the Transformers movie hitting this summer and the Star Trek movie hitting next winter it's unlikely that the two will be mixing it up any time soon. _________________ Peace...

| oh well. Thought I'd ask. I'd love to see Nick Roche do some trek. any chance of "Generations"-type title for star trek? Tons of material to draw upon. Better yet, i'd love to see a "special edition" title. Say, an old issue redrawn with the artwork of today. I think that'd be neat. |

Almost two years since the last post. Is this Q&A session officially closed?

That would be the logical assumption, yes. _________________ The preceding post is OK to print. |

Got idea for questions! Such as:
When are you going to announce the details of the rest of the second Alien Spotlight series, they're a mystery!
And, are you suuuuure you don’t want to do a Doctor Who/Star Trek crossover, as the comics license holder for both that surely will help getting it sorted a lot. And John Byrne apparently already proposed a crossover, and recently Russell T. Davis said one of the things he would have loved to have done with the Doctor Who TV series was a crossover for Trek. So clearly it is begging to be done!
And one more, why cant we have more (any) movie era TOS stuff, if we TOS must constantly dominate IDWs output at least give us a bit of variety away from the TV era, pleeeeease.
And another other thing, still no Pike miniseries! You know we want it! _________________ Numerically challenged drone

We all know Kirk and crew were on another ongoing mission between Star Treks V and VI. Maybe the powers-that-be have decided that ground was already covered by DC Comics back in the 80's and 90's? _________________

Here, here! Though I'm still p***ed about the casting of Bruce Greenwood as Pike. Ray Liotta would've been so much better in the part. He looks so much like the late, great Jeffrey Hunter, it's frightening...

I agree about Ray Liotta's resemblance to Jeffrey Hunter, though the main thing which has seemed off about the casting of Pike has been the age the character is being portrayed. Jeffrey Hunter was 40 when he played the part, while Bruce Greenwood is 53.
So, Pike ended up being aged while other characters were made younger so they are all roughly the same age. While I haven't seen nearly enough of Karl Urban as McCoy to make an informed decision, going by looks alone Gary Sinise is a closer match to DeForest Kelley. All in all, I would say the only thing about the new movie which I still don't like is the look of the Enterprise.
What is it now, roughly one month until the movie opens? Now's the time to start getting excited about it. _________________ The preceding post is OK to print. |

But Greenwood is, imho, a far better actor than Liotta that I have no problem with the casting. Bruce Greenwood is fantastic and a much under-rated actor. |

I didn't say anything about Greenwood's acting ability, just that I agreed Ray Liotta has a closer resemblance to Jeffrey Hunter. _________________ The preceding post is OK to print. |
