What's the ETA for the second TNG mini-series, and can you reveal what time period it will be set in?

Any chance of a Star Trek Spotlight series, sort've like the Transformers ones? I want a Dr. Pulaski story to validate her existence... Very Happy

Are the sales of the Star Trek comics thus far considered by IDW to be a success? I have a hard time gauging what "success" is for IDW, when Marvel is selling obscene amounts of comics like 300,000+ copies of each issue of Civil War. Are the Star Trek comics selling as well as the Transformers comics? Are either franchise's comics in danger?

1. No ETA, really. We're talking about something to end the year or thereabouts. We want to get the TOS series well-established and roll on the Alien Races spotlights issues. But we're talking about the next one now. Any requests on what you'd want to see?

2. We've talked about that, too, yeah. Although you just might get some validation for Dr. Pulaski's existence sooner than that.

3. It's off to a good start. Not Civil War numbers by any means, and I'd love to see more, but if things maintain as they are, we'll be fine. Transformers, especially with the movie coming, still outsells most of our other books, but maybe Trek will see that same balloon effect when the plans for the next movie come together. And doing different things like TOS "Year Four," Alien Spotlights, and the Klingon book will also hopefulyl show people some new things that will pull them in. Neither franchise is in any kind of danger, though, no.

This is the first I heard that you guys are already planning a second TNG mini-series. I'm all for it, since TNG is my favorite of all the trek shows. It'd have to be something different from the "Space Between" series. Maybe you could focus on the secondary characters we've seen over the years, like barclay. You could have the focus be similar even to the episode "Lower Decks." Create a group of "Lower Deck" characters and see things from their point of view. I dont know, I'm kind of just rambling ideas out here. I'd personally LOVE to see you guys do a Q-focused mini-series.

Well it had been noted that there's interest in doing something post Nemesis. If you can include Titan under the TNG banner I'd love to see a Titan miniseries.

I would kind of like the next TNG series to be on the Enterprise-E, just to vary it abit more from The Space Between, but when could be very open, the period between the four TNG films is as big as the time covered by the TV series.

On that note, is it too early to ask about when the Alien Spotlights will be set round abouts, after two TV-era TOS miniseries I'm eager for something in the movie era.

I can tell you that as of right now one of the spotlights is set during the TOS Movie Era.

I would be very interested in a TOS movie-era spotlight! Would there be any chance of a Dr. McCoy spotlight? He is my favourite Star Trek character.

Good to hear the sales are ok. Like Transformers, I feel the Trek licence has a good chance of bedding in at IDW if given enough time to work out the kinks.

I'd definitely like to explore all of the characters in their own spotlight book. As to TV or Movie era... Why not both. You just got me thinking...

a spotlight book focused on every character, from TOS to TNG, would be great. I think it'd be kinda neat if u put the focus of those stories on actual episodes. For example, a Spock spotlight that takes place during the episode "Amok Time." You could add alot more to the episode by showing us what was going on in spock's mind. That way, they wouldnt be straight adaptations, but would add to some of the best episodes of trek. Just a thought. Even though you are doing something similar with the upcoming Klingon series, I still think it would be neat.

For the next Next Generation mini-series, I'd like to see some attention given to characters/situations that weren't fully addressed in the TV Series. The relationship between Q and Guinan, depth for Nurse Ogawa, more interactions with Sela and the TNG crew, and some purpose for Dr. Pulaski are at the top of my list of things I'd like to see done to flesh out the TNG universe even more.

I also wouldn't mind a time-travel story where TNG meets the Enterprise crew, but that's probably out of the question, huh? Dr. Phlox + TNG Crew = *joy* Very Happy

Oh oh oh, mega cross over temporal cold war miniseries! (or mega series!)

Or maybe less crazilly, Pocket Books TNG "A Time To..." miniseries, set before Nemesis has a Denoblian doctor serving on the Enterprise, maybe IDW could include him in any TNG stories round that era.
