Hi!

I've been out of the loop lately and the last Ash comic I bought was ZvsRvsA #3. What has come out since? I'm having some withdrawal symptoms...

UH... Duostar Racers #1, the WWR BOOK, not the comic... the ZvRvA Hard Cover, The Complete ZvR/ZvRvA softcover trade...

I think that's it. I don't know how long you've been out of the loop but, Uno Tarino...?

Thanks! I probably should've asked first if the WWR is good? But i ordered it anyway!

Is Duostars going to continue?

I thought WWR was really good. It's not a comic, but... it's really good.

Duostar Racers is only a 2 issue story, I believe...?

And now we've got confirmation on Ash's blog of Popbot #8 hitting the stands this year Smile

Well, given the almost a standard month or two behind the solicits that the books actually come out, it might jsut be Jan 09. Wink

Still, I'm fully stoked for Popbot #8. It's been too long.

Ash did covers for Tank Girl : Visions of Booga, and there's talk of him doing some more TG stuff next year.

There were new deluxe collections of Popbot and Lore released around the time of San Diego ComicCon.

As far as non-comic stuff...

Sparrow #0 : Ashley Wood sketches & ideas was originally part of the Sparrow 1-5 2nd printings box set, but is now available individually.

Sparrow: Ashley Wood vol 2 came out after ZvsRvsA. Swallow #4 as well, right?

There were three Ash paintings in the Device Gallery Fantastic Contraption show, seen in the IDW book this summer.

There was also an Ash painting in the Totoro Forest Project benefit auction and book ( the book is almost impossible to find now, but there will likely be a 2nd printing ).

I'm looking forward to Popbot #8. Though it will be difficult to top Popbot #7, the BEST . COMIC. EVER. *

* note: I may be somewhat biased, due to the fact there's a character named after me in Popbot #7. Wink

I didn't realize that was available on it's own yet. Went into the store toda, and there it was on the shelf of stuff that came in today.

Weird.

Anyway, yeah, I picked it up and it's great.

I don't know if this is new or not, but I picked up an Ashley Wood artbook today that I definitely hadn't seen before.

35US. Awesome. Called DOS Tarino.

EDIT: Only bad thing: I hate these artbook dimensions. They sit in my shelves funny. Evil or Very Mad

I second that. I wish I had all the ash wood art books, but they're so damn pricey. Popbot was also looking pretty sexy last time I checked,.

The Popbot collection is really nice. Can't wait for #8... can't even remember the last time an issue of Popbot came out. Was what, three years ago?

I hope Duo Star Racers #2 comes out eventually. I've completely given up hope on ever seeing another issue of D'AIRAIN. I can't tell you how sad that makes me. That was a hell of a book. All the potential in the world. ANd people actually took notice of it. I heard a lot of people talk about that one, people who don't normally mention Ash's work... be it that his work is a given or aren't into it normally... either way, they were talking.

I'm honestly a little sad Ash has turned more to toys I can't afford and high priced art books than comics... but... whatever.

My only real gripe with Ash is that he doesn't explore enough new territory/subject matter with his art. The last book I bought by him was 'World War Robot', but I actually didn't find it especially satisfying. It felt like more of the same. I much prefer his Sparrow books where he tends to drift between different themes with more fluency.

I loved the WWR book. I liked that it was an art book with a story. Plus I thought the work in it was incredible.

I like the Sparrow books... all the artists featured are incredible in their own right, and all very different. The Sketches and Ideas book being my favorite of the Ash books... it's the most varied and interesting of the three Ash books.
