Well, it's out today. What did everyone think about it? I haven't read it yet, but I'll be back later with my thoughts. Until then, let's hear what you guys have to say! _________________

Simply put: Outstanding in cover, story, and art. However, a new record for inkers on one book for a Trek comic and the darkest orginial series Klingons I've ever seen.
That said, I still can't wait for the paperback reprint. It's a series that deserves to read in one sitting. |

I didn't think all the plot points could be tied up in this last issue but, sure enough, most of them were. However, they left a door open for a sequel. The mysterious Admiral could definitely use more exploring in a sequel.
This turned out to be a wonderful Trek series. It had everything a Star Trek fan could want: Klingons, Romulans, cloaking devices, familiar faces (Sarek, Kor, and the lovely female Romulan Commander) a dreadnought-class destroyer, Klingon and Romulan D-7s, epic space battles (especially in issue #5!), wonderful character moments, a great role for Lt Arex, and a ton of references to past episodes and feature films.
A big thanks go out to Derek Chester, Gordon Purcell, and especially D.C. Fontana (Mrs Trek). It was a real joy to read this series and a great pleasure to read more of Fontana's work. With her name attached to this book it felt like "real" Star Trek.
Please, Ms. Fontana and Mr. Chester, come back and follow up this series. Star Trek: The Enterprise Experiment will now be the gold standard by which I will compare all other Star Trek comics. _________________

I thought it was a pretty good issue. As always the art was fantastic and the actor's likeness' were nailed.
It'll be great if DC Fontanna decides to come back to write more Year Four stories. _________________ "Let us make sure, that history never forgets the name...Enterprise."--Captain Picard |

Enterprise Experiment has been, for me, the most satisfying Star Trek comic IDW has produced so far. It would be hard for me to critize much in "Enterprise Expriment." It's a sci-fi mystery with all the classic Star Trek characterizations intact from the original series. The comic reads like an episode of a contemperary sci-fi TV show, and I think it reminds me most of the best episodes of Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis. Coming from someone who is a big a 'gate fan as well as a trekkie, that is high praise.
I so hope Fontana and Chester are going to do a sequel, along with pencils by Purcell. I love where the dangling plot threads are going. How does Section 31 figure into this? Why doesn't the Federation use cloaks in the future? And what are the Romulans and Klingons up to? Also, is this going to tie into Byrne's Romulan series? _________________

Annoyingly it still hasn't arrived at my comic book shop... the comic book guy says the supplier is claiming it has been delayed (which it quite clearly has not been)
While I'm hoping this final issue will leaving me feeling better about the series, it seems I'm the only one who has not enjoyed it... I've found it rather too full of continuity porn and in-references and thus a bit unoriginal. The writing in general has been ok, but the structure is sometimes a bit funny, and what's the deal with the random flashbacks? The art has been mostly ok, but sometimes a bit garish and cartoony for me. More miss than hit so far, though I'm hoping when I finally do get the final issue and read them all together it will turn out to be more enjoyable than I've found it so far. _________________ Numerically challenged drone
