Lots of TPB goodness for early '09
Transformers: All Hail Megatron, Vol. 1 by Shane McCarthy and Guido Guidi (Paperback - Mar 1, 2009)
Transformers: Generation One, Vol. 1 by Brad Mick, Pat Lee, Don Figueroa, and Joe Ng (Paperback - Mar 1, 2009) (which appears to be Volume 3 -- issues 0 to 5 or 6 of the ongoing -- "The fan-favorite Generation One Transformers continue their adventures in this collection of issues #0-5 from Dreamwave's Generation One Volume 3. Mostly focused on the AUTOBOTS led by JAZZ, left behind on Earth by OPTIMUS PRIME, witness the conflict between JAZZ's team and STARSCREAM's faction. After an attack by BRUTICUS most of the AUTOBOTS are captured. However, STARSCREAM's forces were decimated by the self-destructing ARK and by the arrival of the most unexpected foe of all - STARSCREAM's seemingly mad but extraordinarily powerful clone SUNSTORM. Now STARSCREAM is forced into an uneasy alliance with the AUTOBOTS and a reactivated JETFIRE. Also introducing OMEGA SUPREME, and revealing the existence of a mysterious CYBERTRONIAN seal on Earth, which only STARSCREAM can open!")
Transformers: War Within Omnibus by Simon Furman and Don Figueroa (Paperback - Mar 1, 2009) (appears to be a collection of War Within volumes 1 and 2 -- "Before Stormbringer, before the Beast Wars, before even Generation One, there was... The War Within. Four million years before the Transformers came to Earth, civil war rocks their home world of Cybertron, and Optimus Prime faces his first o and greatest o challenge. But before he can deal with the Decepticons, the new Autobot leader must look within... and decide if Cybertron is worth saving at all! If you think you know the Transformers... think again! IDW is proud to present this omnibus collecting the long-out-of-print 12-part War Within series from the Transformers' past.")
Classic Transformers, Vol. 3 by Bob Budiansky, Steve Parkhouse, Don Perlin, and John Ridgway (Paperback - Jan 29, 2009) ("Starting out with the four-part "Man of Iron" story originally released for the U.K., then "Child's Play" blasts off with the ARK's first departure from Earth since crashing here in Issue #1, then Fortress Maximus' AUTOBOTS head to Earth, Buster gets captured by RATBAT, enter the PRETENDERS, and finally we visit with THE QUINTESSONS! This collection of 14 classic TRANSFORMERS comics relives all the vintage glory of this pop culture powerhouse.")
Transformers Animated, Vol. 7 by Marty Isenberg (Paperback - Jan 29, 2009)
Transformers Movie Prequel: Saga of the Allspark by Simon Furman, Geoff Senior, Nick Roche, and Don Figueroa (Paperback - Jan 29, 2009)
Transformers: Armada, Vol. 2 by Simon Furman, Pat Lee, and Guido Guidi (Paperback - Jan 29, 2009)
Only thing missing is the Revelations Spotlight TPB... _________________ September 17, 1984. The world changed forever.

Hmph, so are those issues of DW's G1 series finally "okay" to reprint now? _________________ Everything is okay to print.
Whenever Drift is not on-panel, all the other characters should be asking "Where's Drift?"

suggests that maybe the bankruptcy is finally getting resolved. Unfortunately if they are reprinting 0-5 in one volume, and presumably 6-10 in another, that suggests we'll never get to see what 11 and 12 were supposed to look like...
Ditto for the War Within omnibus. No WWIII _________________ September 17, 1984. The world changed forever.

I've been waiting so long for Dreamwave's G1 Vol3 to be reprinted but Amazon just won't delete it from their listings, they keep pushing it back. Doesn't necessarily mean IDW is finally able to reprint. Oh well, there's hope.
I'll be sure to buy the Saga of the Allspark and AHM trades btw... _________________ Everything I post is ok to print

Denton, when you happen along here, can you tell us whether it will be marketed as "Vol. 1" or "Vol. 3" -- I would have expected the latter. _________________ September 17, 1984. The world changed forever.

Agreed. I'm going to wait for an official IDW solicitation before I get my hopes up.

Not necessarily, there's always the possibility that the unreleased material could be included as extras in the trades. _________________ The preceding post is OK to print. |

Interesting date for AHM1.
I thought it would have been closer to issue 6's release.
Maybe this indicates a hardcover release earlier, followed by a paperback as listed? _________________ Confidence is in those who are so certain they continuously learn in an attempt to prove themselves wrong. |

Wonder if this is going to include the Headmasters 4-issue limited series. Headmasters would fit in the middle of this. And the only issue involving the Quintessons would be the big broadcast of 2006. So if this runs Man of Iron through Big Broadcast, that would only be 11 issues -- suggests maybe Headmasters are in.

That's about a 3-month lag, assuming everything runs on time (which it doesn't, so probably a 2-month lag) -- fairly consistent. Doubt we'll see a hardcover release until they collect all 12 at the end of the series. _________________ September 17, 1984. The world changed forever.

| I didn't know IDW was reprinting the classic Marvel series. I'll have to get Volumes 1 and 2. Are these nice reprints? I've heard they omit #3 and #9 due to Marvel characters but I guess that's better then nothing. |
