Yep, the last series was quite good, even I'm sure it could be better and therefore I'm eagerly looking forward to all new series by IDW, not only the TNG.

It was about time that someone took the chance of bringing Star Trek back to Comic-Life, thanks a lot for that

I am STILL really happy about this.

Excited!

Waiting for it!!!

YAY TNG TNG TNG!!! Can't wait to see more adventures by Riker and crew! Smile

Also, just to make my opinion known:

Quote:
Tiptons: Well, we're not telling stories that take place following the most recent movie, so we're not looking to establish "the official new adventures of Picard and company"

I'm definitely on board for this, don't get me wrong, but --

-- I would LOVE TO SEE "the official new adventures of Picard and company"!

If that's not what the Tiptons want to do, more power to them --

-- but I hope SOMEBODY does at some point!!! Smile

I would *LOVE* to see what happens to the TNG cast post-Nemesis!!!

^I'm with you. I'd love to see the continuing voyages of the Enterprise-E. Maybe we could also see Riker's U.S.S. Titan. Wink

Well Dan and the gang have said they'd like to do most-Nemesis TNG before. I'd be happy to see the continueing voyages of the Ent-E. But I'd be more interested in Titan, it's a bit newer, different, something not seen in comics before.

Either way, I'd hope they work closely with Pocket to keep things consistent.

I don't think Star Trek has an "expanded universe" like Star Wars does. All of Star Wars literature is intertwined, making it kind of convoluted and confusing. Star Trek lit is not the same way. I suppose IDW would be free to create their own continuity regardless of what Pocket Books is doing. In a way, I like that because I don't feel as if I have to read the novels to know what's going on in the comics. Plus, since it's all non-canon anyway, you can get another interpretation of a possible TNG future.

Yup IDW could choose to ignore the fantastic continuations of Star Trek Pocket have created, or they could work together for the advancement of both companies projects and a bit of cross promotion and cross continuity. I'd rather see the later.

I can't see the cross company stuff happening personally.
Sounds like a logistical nightmare to me.

Same way I don't expect the Doctor Who comics to link to anything other then the TV series, and even then only in a "this story fits between episodes X an Y of Season Z".

Well they did it before when Wildstorm held the Trek comics licence. And it shouldn't be that hard, they don’t actually have to build directly on top of each other just make sure they are consistent, make use of the new characters Pocket have already established.

Many of the Pocket authors have, and do, write comics, including Star Trek ones, and some of them have already talked to IDW, the same writers working on novel and comics shouldn’t find it too hard to keep one universe together.

I suspect that Peter David is one of those writers. Wink

He has talked with IDW, no news on whether that got anywhere. And he has written one of the first TNG novels set after Nemesis (out in a couple of months). But most of his work in the Trekverse in recent years has been on New Frontier.

as a real big fan of the Written Canon from Pocket Books, established by Peter David and Co, I like the idea better that IDW goes along with this kind of Canon, so far they did this job exzellently and for me there's simply no need to create another aspect of Star Trek which doesn't concur with the other things

by the way, I also would like to see Post-Nemesis, even I would prefer it, as said above, sticking with the stuff of Pocket Books
