I've heard the occasional call for an ongoing series of comics as apposed to just miniseries but haven’t really felt it the best idea as I think it would restrict the variety of stories IDW could tell.
But how's about a continuing series that's forever changing setting? The 24th century has three TV series set in it right on top of each other and big dollop of more Trekverse surrounding them. How about a series that did them all. Not as an all in one mega cross over event but just flowing between.
A story might start on the Enterprise which stopped off at DS9 so the story continues there while the Enterprise departs, the Defiant meets Voyager (after Endgame) and the story gets transferred there. It could bounce between other alien ships, and secondry characters and setting before being picked up again on DS9 or Enterprise or wherever. One story thread could lead into another and really explore the entire 24th century trekverse. _________________ Numerically challenged drone

| Not a bad concept, Eight. That was basically how Dark Horse operated the ongoing STAR WARS title before it became REPUBLIC. A mix of characters and settings. Myself, I prefer the mini-series format. I think IDW has a good thing going. They're not cluttering the market with Star Trek titles. Just two at a time. That was it doesn't stress out the pocket book and it leaves you wanting more. |

I'm quite happy with miniseries too. But if they did ever opt for a continuing series I'd rather it something really wide ranging than just say "The continuing adventures of the USS Enterprise". The only thing that would really draw me to push for a continuing series is that it would be like having a proper Star Trek series back rather than random one off stories that has been the bulk of new Star Trek stories since the TV series finished. _________________ Numerically challenged drone

Basically, "Star Trek: 24th Century", in which all the three series could appear. You could see the Enterprise-E, or you might visit Deep Space 9, or you might see the Voyager, you could even come across Wesley and the Traveler.
More or less the same as any anthology book such as Marvel Comics Presents or Showcase '95.
Works for me. |

^I guess that'd be fine. However, I'm more into the 23rd Century/TOS era so I don't know if that'd interest me as much. But hey, I wouldn't want to rain on everyone else's parade. |

Yup "Star Trek: Destiny" a novel trilogy featuring the Ent-E and Titan and to some extent elements of DS9 Voyager and the earlier series. It's going to be big!
Ro-Dan, yeah it would be great to explore any era, but I think the 24th century has the widest existing base having three of the TV series set in that era. _________________ Numerically challenged drone
