I'm still voting he's on the ship all the way, It doesnt really make sense to me otherwise, Weve never seen red alert encountering overlord before, unless he was part of kups unit in wreckers and i didnt spot him.
I think theres way more story options in having overlord on the lost light than being a hallucination.

Hopefully. It was still a cracking end to the issue.
EDIT. Having looked at it again I think Red Alert is telling Rung about Overlord who is the monster in the basement.
Which would mean hes there.

One off the best endings to a transformers comic ive seen, It didnt come off as fan-wanky like the dreamwave 'reveal of a new character' did.

Yeah. We thought Rung was the big moment in the issue but there were two.

Well I didn't think he was dead... There's too much stock put in him by Roberts to just kill him off in such a fashion. Plus a good fraction of bots on that ship would be lost w/o him.
What I would like know is if he really thought that Overlord was gone or if he was purposely lying to Ft. Max about him for what ever reason.

rung could have just been telling max what he wanted to hear, or 'high command' could have been lying to everyone like they always seem to be doing. |

As if i wasn't looking forward to this issue enough already! James has just ratcheted up the anticipation some more!! I think Red will be confiding in a comatose Rung and will not tell the rest of the crew for some reason...

Yeah thats what I think is happening. Red will continue to talk to Rung like he always has only Rung is not able to talk back.

I think it would be entertaining if Rung were alive but with most of his mind and memories gone. So, to fully bring him back, they hook up one of his Ark models, which is actually a backup hard drive of his mind. The problem is that it doesn't restore Rung, but instead restores Agent 113. Rung was always so nice because the violent and malicious parts of his mind were removed and loaded onto the Ark model, with only the good part left behind, innocently unaware of the other aspects of his persona, but with a subliminal need to keep that model with him at all times and keep it safe...

There's a thing. Are we sure "the monster" is Overlord (wouldn't it make more sense for Red Alert to say "Overlord", as 1) it's quite likely he knows who he is and b) if he doesn't know, why would he think he's a monster?) and 2) the basement refers to wherever Overlord is?
Because maybe... something more took place between Red Alert and Overlord and Red found out about whatever is below Aequitas and that might be the monster he refers to.

Gahhhh, this is torturing me, there's the other, REALLY horrible alternative, what if Rung's being brought back just to get killed all over again?

Well...
At least we said Shock had a similar head type, maybe they can modify that to fit Rung something if he pulls through? |

The zombie quote needn't be about Rung... especially since the DJD is involved... (and we know they get up to some gruesome stuff).
It might even refer to Grimlock.

I wonder how messed up Red Alert will be after this. Is he confiding in Rung's unconscious (dead?) body because it's comforting, or is he so mentally stressed that he doesn't realize Rung can't hear him? Not being able to talk with the one person in the universe he (sort of) trusts is going to mess with his paranoia even more than usual.

I'm worried about that too. I'm cool with realistic consequences or changes to Rung's character, because like Sprite said, it would be dumb to have him go on like nothing happened. But I'd also hate to see him get a fate worse than death too. Killing him last issue was bad enough, but bringing him back just to make his end even more horrible would be crossing the line, IMHO. I love James as a writer, but I don't like worrying about how cruel and morbid he's willing to take it. Especially when we're dealing with a sweet character that a lot of fans are very attached to.

Or Kup. I seriously doubt that Kup's story is over either, and the last time we saw him was in a story featuring zombies...

I don't think the image was leaked. The person on Tumblr who first posted it said they got it from IDW in a preview email, which sounds like it was sent deliberately as a teaser. |
