Firstly my apologies that Im bringing up Megatron again but I think evidence is mounting that the founder of the Cons may well be returning at some point. While the following evidence is all circumstantial I thought it would be interesting to look further into it.
1 James Roberts built Megatron up so much as a character in Chaos Theory only to have him "killed" a few issues later in Chaos issue 30. You dont build up an iconic character like that just to kill him off permanently. James has a plan for him long term in the Ongoing
2 Autocracy. Megs was one of the stars of this. Again with so much focus on him in the past there has to be a tangible link to the present.
3 Shadowplay. We return to the CT era (so we are lead to believe ) with a 3 parter in MTMTE and no doubt Megatron will feature here at some point.
4 Potential sequel to Autocracy. If it happens then surely he will feature again. Again I can see it being linked to the present day events
5 Pax returned. After only 6 months since DOOP Prime AKA Orion Pax returns. So why not Megatron?
6 A very uncertain end. Megatrons "death" in Chaos was so unclear and up in the air that it certainly leaves it open for either James or John to bring him back.
7 Hes an Icon. I cant see Hasbro being happy that Megatron is not a part of the success of the new Ongoings. Yes hes in Regeneration but Im sure they want Megatrons fate explained.
8 Ironhides vision. Issue 31 Ironhide mentions his fear that Megatron is still out there. Which must mean he returns since the events of Chaos. Because if he died in Chaos and his body was found then he couldnt return. So it mustnt have been. So where did he go?
Just because he returns does not mean he has to be a central figure. Thats down to the writers. He can be a part of things without taking over. I think a lot of people dont want him returning because they are afraid of him taking over and it being all about him and Pax again. It doesnt have to be. We have the writers to make sure that doesnt happen.

I don't think it's even in doubt that Megatron will return, and it's probably not a long time away either. As long as it's handled right (and I have trust it will be) then I'm all for it. Not being a fan of his previous upgraded body, I hope he comes back with some new "threads"

Some ideas to improve the comic: One: Drift needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Two: whenever Drift's not in an issue, all the other characters should be asking "Where's Drift"? |

Im hoping he will look a bit like his WFC look which is cool.
I picked that guy up at the weekend and hes an amazing figure. Really cool.

Well People have thought that Rung is a fraud and I suggested that he could be IDW's equivalent of X-Men's Xorn (Who was a 'healer' in a self containing suit that was revealed to be the again thought dead Magneto) So maybe Megs has returned already...

I might be seriously in the minority here, but I actually LIKE his Ore-13 look. |

He was just too powerful to most. I mean Megs is supposed to be strong, just not That strong.

Evidence that Megatron will return: he's effing Megatron. He'll be back at some point.
There's no call for him just yet though. With the Decepticons led by Starscream, and plenty of other big bads to go around, lets leave him in limbo for the time being.
And yeah, his stealth fighter body was extremely awesome. Made of ore-13 and win.

On that note, anyone know where I can find some pictures of his alt mode? Like Milne's design sketches, something like that?
If I remember correctly, we only saw it kind of blurry, far off, from below, once. |
