Thing is, is there a bigger cast in RiD? I think James is juggling roughly twenty characters now (out of a bigger cast of 200+) and doing it pretty well, giving a lot of them at least a little exposure every issue. While RiD seems to focus on a far smaller group of characters every issue, despite the fact that there are far more people on Cybertron than on the Lost Light.
Or maybe it's just that MTMTE seems to get way more out of even the smallest moments, I dunno.

Theres a bigger cast to choose from in rid but there is a smaller core cast then MTMTE. For my money the core cast as of issue 5 of Rid are Prowl, Arcee, Bumblebee, Metalhawk, Starscream, Ironhide with a supporting cast of assorted bots and cons. No doubt the Dyno-bots will play a big role when they are introduced as they head into the widerness with Ironhide.
What I liked about RiD # 6 was the focus shifted to a new cast. There was no Prowl or Arcee or Metalhawk and it was dare I say it refreshing. There should be a bigger core cast for John to use in RiD but he doesnt. Not yet anyway. He has a planet full of bots and cons and neutrals.
And lets see more of Cybertron too. I know we will see the wilderness but lets see more city states. Sometimes the Lost Light seems less claustrophobic.

Considering Barber probably has a room wallpapered with No-Prizes, I'm sure he has something up his sleeve to deal with the Bluestreak/Silverstreak situation. And wasn't Mirage another character they fought over? There's some explaining to be done about his Spotlight.

I certainly hope you're right. I really want Bluestreak (I think he's back to being Bluestreak now) to get some development. Had some hopes for him during the ongoing but that didn't really pan out to much...

There's been a fair amount of growing background detail with new buildings and streets appearing, and Iacon growing to resemble a city rather than a car park for spaceships, but there's little reason right now for other city states to appear. Cybertron is, for all we (and the cast) know, still largely devoid of resources, so it would be ridiculous for more towns to start springing up straight away.

I don't think you'd want your favorite character in RID considering Barber likes to kill them at such high frequency. lol.
Nobody dies in MTMTE! Even with a whole place filled with viruses and a ship bearing a sparkeater. If you have a favorite character you'd want him in MTMTE, instead.
But again...third and fourth ongoing. Make it happen, IDW. We will buy them. I promise. |

ALL the city states are gone. Cybertron is a wilderness, and the city they're in now started out as a shanty town made up of parked space ships. Until there's a need, New Iacon is all we'll see.

didnt they mention that when metrotitan appears he starts smashing up crystal city? so there could be other citys left standing. |
