If only they had done his Alt modes the other way around. Winnebago as Hot Rod and super cool Sports Car as Rodimus Prime. _________________

Or, ideally they should have had some way for the cab section to detach and become the sports car _________________ "Running away with a Spaceman in a box, anything could happen to you" |

You can see why most media ditched his 'trailer' in later Rodimus designs. _________________

Aside from "Eww" my first thought was a redeco Ultra Magnus. But as a Rodimus that is plain wrong. _________________

It reminds me of PowerMaster Prime, for all the wrong reasons. _________________

But that would completely fly in the face of the name "Hot Rod" as a Winnebago hardly screams out that it is a "hot rod." The best course of action, though: don't try to apply logic. It will only cause your head to explode. _________________ The preceding post is OK to print. |

I think now is the time to discuss Canon for Sunbow and most other TF cartoons. Now Beast Wars and Beast Machines tie directly to Sunbow in terms of canon as does Animated, although that is rather more loosely. The Unicron Trilogy is an island unto itself much like Prime. But does RiD fit in with any of the above? if not should it? _________________

I seem to recall Takara saying that Car Robots (the Japanese name for RiD) was part of G1 continuity.
I think Hasbro considers it completely seperate. _________________

I suppose its almost a alternate G1 beginning thing: with the Autobots appearing on Earth solo and the Decepticons/Preds arriving after. Yet the inclusion of Predacons as well as Decepticons really confuses RID's standing. Since I doubt RID Megatron existed before or alongside his BW Namesake and well no one quite looked the same after BM so... _________________

The RiD cast could be from the future (like Beast Wars)
In fact, what if after Beast Machines that era's Megatron somehow survives, takes on a new form (the RiD one, hence the dragon mode), gathers together a new crew of Predacons and makes his way into the past to try and destroy Prime again.
Only he miscalculates and ends up circa 2001, just after the bots and cons have been offlined by the Ark II explosion.
They're followed by the future Autobot leader RiD Prime and his crew back into the past.
They're all gone by the time Lazarus starts resurrecting the G1 Transformers. _________________ "Running away with a Spaceman in a box, anything could happen to you" |
