Here's the cover in case anyone hasn't seen it.
Did this get pushed back to the 21st? _________________ ------------------

| Thanks for posting the release dates guys. I noticed it wasn't listed in the graham crackers email for this next week and came here to see what was up. Glad I hadn't missed it. |

Wow, what an ending! I loved how the spotlight came on Peter in this issue and how he defeated the Hungry Manitou.
The art was excellent as always but one of the most memorable so far was
the green stuff that pours out of possessed Peter's eyes and mouth after Winston nailed the force field.
The schematic and design for the IDWverse's Ecto-2 were totally rad. Sorry RGB Ecto-2 but I'd rather ride in this one.
One gripe is I wish the panels would be bigger when they trap the entity. I noticed for the Manitou and Ellen Gold, they went with a slim panel- makes it kinda anti-climactic.
Easter eggs found so far _________________ Ghostbusters Volume 2 #3 Notes |

A very strong conclusion.
I love stories that focus on Peter's competency as a scientist and as a doctor. Lots of writers (at least from the cartoon) like to focus on his failings, such as ego or laziness or what have you, because it's fun to watch him make an idiot of himself and learn his lesson at the end. Some times this can get to the point where he's more like a useless goofball (there were lots of things wrong with the last few season of the cartoon, but Peter getting boiled down to the boneheaded comic relief was one of the worst offenders).
But the guy's a doctor for a reason, and when push comes to shove, he knows how to get things done ("The Devil in the Deep" was a favorite of mine because it focused on that very trait). I especially like that Burnham shines the spotlight on what is clearly Peter's greatest strength; his ability to immediately diagnose a person's character and then prode it or manipulate it to his own ends. Sure, he often uses that skill for less than savory purposes (picking up women or just ticking others off for his own enjoyment), but it's a very useful ability and, as this issue strained to illustrate, one befitting of a guy with a PHD in psychology.
Fantastic Peter spotlight and I enjoy these sorts of stories that go the distance to keep characters from falling into "tropes" by showing what they're really made of.
And Schoening's Easter eggs are still a treat; I spend more time pouring over an issue of Ghostbusters than I do any other comic. Great job recreating the Columbia University office, too; right down the "maid" door hanger.
That clown the Brainbug turned into at the end was from "Station Identification", right?
Keep up the kiddy fanart, too! Always makes me smile. _________________ TMNT Entity: The place for Ninja Turtle comic reviews and research articles! |

I've become so accustomed to 4-issue arcs in comics that this 3-issue conclusion really took me by surprise (even though I knew #8 would be a different Egon-centric story). But the pacing worked really well.
Whenever most comics/cartoons do a story about a character getting possessed, it usually means their regular personality becomes irrelevant so that the "evil version" can take the spotlight. But getting an intimate look into Venkman's psyche was a real treat and something that is rarely ever done in most forms of storytelling. My compliments to the IDW creative staff for this one! |

This is gonna sound kinda strange, but bear with me: I'm glad to see that Peter did, in fact, wind up in the hospital. Not because I don't like him or wish him harm, but up until now, I've felt like the physical danger of the Ghostbusting job has been somewhat distant (At least in other incarnations of the GBs). Actually seeing characters feel the repercussions of the job gives this comic that one little more ounce of realism that makes it awesome. On that note, does this put Pete out of work for a while? He took a pretty big beating, and you guys are always pretty consistent in your timing, so... How long's he gonna be out? _________________

He's on the job in issue #8, but it's an indeterminate amount of time after Schenectady. (:
(Also, it is NOT visible, but he's got a wrist brace under his gloves -- Dan considered going full sling, too.)
But he took time away from the job between issues. (; _________________ Follow me on Twitter. Be my Facebook fan. Wade in the pool that is my ego. (;

So for Peter's DOB on his hospital wristband - I'm 99% it had 11/21 on it. Was this a shout out to the birth date of Harold Ramis? _________________ Ghostbusters Volume 2 #3 Notes |

And if so...why? Wouldn't 9/21 (Bill Murray's birthday) have made more sense? Save 11/21 for Egon...
(Though I would have been deliriously happy in the unlikely event the RGB-derived birthday 10/25 had been used...)

See that's why I'm not 100% sure. I probably need a neutron microscope to see the band in its complete clarity. _________________ Ghostbusters Volume 2 #3 Notes |

Finally got a chance to pick my copy up yesterday. Kick ass issue guys, best of the arc for sure.
Possessed Pete was cool, his hair totally reminded me of "Mrs. Rogers Neighborhood". Those two whole pages right after the guys turned their attacks on the Manitou were great, that green clown was wicked looking.
And you gotta love the ending with Peck not getting his way lol. Can't wait till #8!
