I know I said this in another topic, gah, why can't I have waited before gushing over this comic?
Yes, more of this please Mr Roberts!
Having read and now reread I'm going to keep looking for new fun hidden details, we can start to see full group shots of the Lost Light to work out who's there for starters!
I still feel darn proud of putting 2 and 2 together on noticing the 'osal' previously, so, yay Tailgate, could get to like him and Swerve together...
*looks back at comic*
Or Skids and Swerve, or just Swerve himself!
Love we have roster now at the back of tge comic just for folk catching up, so we can all keep track!
And gotta say, I'm surprised at the revelation over Cyclonus' appearance in the lake... |

This issue was fantastic
every character oozes personality and character devlopment this issue
Swerve is fast becoming my favourite character too James, hes such a fun little guy
poor Brainstorm his ego got brused
the stuff with Ratchet was funny as hell
Rung managed to put whirl in line while being chocked by himk, damn the bot has some guts
ah Cyclous and his hung of death, poor poor whirl he bought it on him self, or should we now call him nut job
Rodimus is continuing to grow as a leader and trying to do his best, makes sense that his first pit stop would be the circle of light and see if any want to come along, lets hope they make it there ok
Skids man talk about making an impression, be interesting to find out how and why he got into that jam he was in, but damn hes a resourceful fighter
Keep up the excellent work guys now I got to wait for issue 3 |

This issue was dripping with Transformers perfection. Every quality i love about the franchise was represented here in full. The artwork and coloring are so sharp and crisp its almost leaping out of the pages, and the final "meet the crew page" was awesome and comical. Within only these 2 issues I feel like Roberts has an almost unmatched knowledge of Transformers placing him right next to Furman. I would never compare the 2 because both are equally great and both have there own styles. I don't praise things this much often but I'd have to say in this case its warranted. This is an absolute wonderful series. A few things of note that stuck out.
1) Skids appears with a memory inhibitor on and some mean robots trying to kill him chanting "1984" over and over.
2)Drift seems to have had spitual experience because of the vector sigma showdown from chaos. He's annoyingly positive now. its funny as hell though.
3) Cyclonus. Apparently he was a stow away. He gets some nice character development and a chance at a new life.
4) tailgate finds out he's 6 million years old. great moment
5) something called a spark eater might be onboard.

You know how you're reading a book and you're reluctant to reach the ending because then it'll be all over? And you wish you could just crawl into the book so you could be part of it forever or something? More Than Meets The Eye is that book!!!
It also comes with free money.
(if you think I'm kidding about that, I'm not; I actually found a crisp-new twenty euro bill on my way to the comic store. It's a sign. A SIGN I TELL YA!)
This issue was another rollercoaster ride of FUN! I love the humour. I also love that the story doesn't rely on humour; you could take it out and there'd still be a lot of interesting stuff happening, making for an enthralling story. And there's so many little nods and references - in-jokes, stuff-that's-happened-but-not-in-the-book - that helps world-building - there's just so much in there that makes not just reading but re-reading a total joy and pleasure. (I really wonder what it is that Whirl did to Springer...)
In this issue, we already get Skids introduced - which is quick, after last issue's message - but we don't get revealed why the crew of the Lost Light was warned against taking him on board. I guess we'll get that later - which adds another bit of tension to a story where you already have a lot of it.
Also, Skids rocks. The End.
On that note - I'm really starting to dig Cyclonus, whom I never particularly liked before. The scene between him and Whirl was priceless - nice continuation of the start of their relationship in the previous issue there. And we also get the explanation of why he was in his altmode when Chromedome and Rewind found him - he was never supposed to be on board of the Lost Light, but tagged along.
Speaking of relationships... Drift and Ratchet. Hee. When I first heard of what it was going to be like, I was a bit confused because I never got the Drift-hate vibe from Ratchet (granted there was only a small scene in AHM that dealt with how Ratched viewed Drift, but that sounded more like mild concern than anything else), but this explains it: Ratchet went one way (becoming grumpier and more negative) while Drift changed in another (becoming more positive and cheerful). I'm pretty sure we get more than just chipper-Drift though - that kind of attitude takes a lot of energy and effort to maintain all the time (and I should know, I'm the expert right? ).
And woo - cliffhanger! I've been wanting to read about Sparkeaters ever since I first heard the term and it looks like I'll get my wish - can't wait for the next issue!
I also really like the "Meet the crew" bit at the end. So much character information in those few lines! Funny stuff, too. I think Ultra Magnus is my favourite: "Smiled once and regretted it ever since."
A line I've been hearing a lot since "Death of Optimus Prime" is "this is what a comic should be!" I concur. It's fun, it's engaging - it's chock-full of action, events, character moments... a real page-turner. And it got me to ask the question that I seem to miss asking a lot while reading stories these days: WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN NEXT? _________________

Excellent ISSUE!!!!
So much going on, feels like Im reading a book.. heh heh, thats a good thing.
Cyclonus and Whirl...that was awesome.
Magnus just has that...IT factor right now. Im A Badass and nobody can say or do otherwise.
All the characters are like somebody else said, are just "OOZING" with personality.
Skids... WTF?!?!?!? When did he become a fighter? Heh Heh...
Im really likeing the Cranky, crotchety, mixture of the 3 verse version of Rachet. (Movie, PRIME, and G1) IDWized!!!
And It was a tiny pic but did Blaster just get a tad of Soundwave added to him? Was that A shoulder Cannon? Looks like hes been improved upon. Nice touch....for a copy cat bot...lol _________________ Everything I post is ok to print, use, copy, use for inspiration, promote world peace, change lives, etc...and so on and so on.

"Who are you? An ex-Wrecker? One of the warriors elite? An old pit fighter?"
"I'm a theoretician".
Half the Wiki entry for this issue's gonna be made up of quotes: there's so many good ones to pick from! _________________

Man, I finish reading it and the first thing I wanna do is read it again.
Another 22 pages of concentrated awesome.
Loved the Cyclonus/Whirl "reunion", Skids' introduction to the others, Drift's new attitude, Swerve begging Ratchet to be the one to tell Tailgate how long he's been asleep...heck, everything Swerve says in this issue is a gem.
Heh, James is sure fond of other characters using dead Transformers as props, isn't he?
As for what Rung mentions about Whirl, what he did to Springer, I think...
Perhaps Whirl tried to stuff a pillow over Springer's face while he was on life support?
Man, I still can't over that we get this awesomeness every month now.
Long may Roberts and Milne reign. _________________ Everything is okay to print.

Loved Whirl's 'apology' to Cyclonus too - 'We were both in the wrong - well you probably more than me but lets let bygones be bygones!!' The guy is off his rocker!! Cyclonus's i'm gonna kill you sometime retort was cool too.
Hyperion, Polaris, Shock and Ore all dead already - better be careful or there won't be much of a crew left!!
Sparkeater is up next, from Topspin's line in LSOTW of the Wreckers, i'd imagine they're pretty unpleasant and that body count is probably gonna go up! One minor thing, if characters are gonna die then at least give them a little page time like we got for Springarm and Orion's lieutenants in CT.... |

Someone brought up Rung, yes!
Remember last issue we saw Whirl get to led at Ratchet trying to 'talk him down', was it Rung he was thinking of? It certainly seems that Rung does his job well to know the right buttons to press in Whirl's head!
And... Red herrings, or something more... Last issue Rewind got some strange golden disks off of Swindle, this time, Tailgate's eyeing up a decapitated drone's head... Everyone seems to love picking up shady souvenirs...
I also personally love the theory of Thunderwing's on Whirl/Springer...
But I too got free money! I won 50 dollars in shopping vouchers at work today... And they're Toys R Us usable, whee!
Now which cast member can I buy... |

SPARKEATER!!! Got to admit that just sounds freaky.... wonder if its an Organic or Mechanical creature? A Cybertronian Vampire type thing?
Who Knows! Sounds like fun. _________________ Everything I post is ok to print, use, copy, use for inspiration, promote world peace, change lives, etc...and so on and so on.

See? SEE? This comic has magic powers, I'm telling you!
Edit: Hey, anyone notice that Archivist/Historian Rewind knows Tailgate's name? _________________

Another great issue.
Does anyone else think that Tailgate's Alt-mode is going to be something significant?
I almost thought that whatever he transformed into (uh-oh I said the word!) might be the cliff hanger, something that the original Ark crew could have done with maybe..
Anyway, loving the book.
Which is why I'm now getting involved on the forum, I have something to actually talk about. |

I think they should just go with Crusaders. That way, should IDW get the MLP license, they could always go crossover and tack "cutie mark" on to it...
I betcha anything somebody is going "the mouth is moving but the words, they make no sense" right about now... _________________
