Just to see what the creators of this amazing comic might think (if you can even comment), here is the current **rumor** from The National Enquirer:

http://www.nationalenquirer.com/mike-walker/who-ya-gonna-call-not-bill-murray

Quote:
After Dan and Harold sent Bill Murray the latest reworked screenplay weeks ago, Murray fired back his shocking answer – nailing the coffin shut forever – by sending Dan and Harold a box containing the new script SHREDDED into confetti, along with this nasty note: "No one wants to pay money to see fat, old men chasing ghosts!"

Insiders say furious Dan and Harold vow that Bill’s off their “who ya gonna call” list forever – and they’ll make the movie WITHOUT him!

I don't know about this. I would really like to believe that even if he didn't like the script, Mr. Murray would sign off on it so that Ghostbusters 3 can be made, even if it's without the Venkman character.

I think you need to look at the source here and not pull a lot of faith in it. Ghostbusters has a huge fan following and is a hit movie, if this were true a lot more credible news outlets would have picked this story up and we would have heard about it way before the Inquirer ever got their slimy hands on it.

That sounds quite childish. I'm considering it false until proven otherwise.

Regardless, I won't care if they don't make a third movie. The Video Game fills that role nicely, and so far... I view this first arc of the new comic as the fourth movie (so to speak).

I think it would be cool to see the guys gear up one more time and pass the neutrona wands on to the younger comedic actors of our day, but I'll live without it.

Just another pointless rumor that will clog up Ghostbusters news sites as other news sites blindly jump on the bandwagon and republish the same garbage. Don't believe it at all.

I hate to say it, but I'm kinda sympathetic to Murray's "alleged" response. Seeing Sly Stallone make a comeback for "Rocky Balboa" was one thing. Seeing a geriatric Egon, Ray, Peter, Winston, and Janine is another. I wouldn't mind seeing a new animated series (in the Dan Schoening/Wii game style) using the voices of the original theatrical cast, however, whether it be CGI or traditional cel animation.

Notice that this was in the "Gossip" section of the magazine. All they did was pick a hot-button issue and push the button.

If I could offer any advice when it comes to GB3, it's this: If Proton Charging doesn't report it as true, then it's probably not. The people there have their heads on a swivel and they don't buy into any sort of rumors, often times giving more logical alternatives to the rumor.

And again, the Internet goes ablaze with BS speculation. Check out the original sources and see where the "recast" thing started in there.

But here's the transcript of the webchat:

Weird, seems they twisted his words for no reason or misinterpreted him?

Thanks for giving me the source, mrmichaelt.

When I logged onto the Yahoo.com homepage, "Ghostbusters 3" was the #1 trending topic with "Bill Murray" in the Top 4.

You're welcome, oldmanwinters. The original GB3 articles tend to get lost in a pile of 50 redundant pieces of "journalism." Real sad state of affairs.
