Spoilers for G.I. Joe #8 below.
I noticed that the Council mentions that the new CC will be in charge of all of Cobra's military operations. This seems like a step down from the old CC's position who seemed to be in charge of everything from financial operations to overseeing scientific endeavors. Is it possible that the Council doesn't think Krake is ready to run the whole show and is just allowing him to focus on his strengths which is heading up military campaigns? Thoughts? _________________ Need to buy, rent or sell a home in DC or Northern VA, then contact me at realtorva@verizon.net |

That would make sense. We never knew anything about the previous commander's background, but he seemed more of a corporate, managerial type. If the Council sees him as more of a tactical, military commander, they'll let him play to his strengths.
Snake Eyes #7 also introduced, though hardly, the Prime Consul, but we don't really know his duties.
You know what--I don't think it matters. I have a feeling Commander Krake will kill everyone on the Council during "Cobra Command" to cement himself as absolute ruler accountable to no one. _________________ Author of Mr. Smartass, available for Amazon's Kindle, iPad/iPhone, and other e-reader devices and apps. |

I think that he has different responsibilities - after all Cobra was more of a business before the Competition, but now it's openly active militarily so now they need an openly military Commander. _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |
