So these were my "in" to modern Transformers comics and as obivously a fair bit of work has gone into everyone I thought a hub should exist to discuss them directly. From the understated and really impressive covers to the sometimes bizarre reading order they utilize for the IDW series (EG Spotlight: Ramjet)

Gosh, seeing those covers together is really nice!
I hope E.J. Su will return to do interiors sometime soon... _________________

I really like the Grimlock (four) and Galvatron (Three) although to me Bumblebee(six) looks ..fat? _________________

Fantastic collection, i have them all!! and yes the covers are brilliant!
I wish IDW would do a deluxe hardcover collection in the same vein on the original Marvel US 1 - 80 run. They could then continue it eventually to cover the forthcoming 80.5 to 100 run as well. Now how fabulous would that be!!!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ David J. Grew |

I love these collections and hope they continue until the entire idw reboot comes to its conclusion. _________________ Thank-you IDW for supporting G.I. Joe: the revamp and ARAH. Here's to forty-nine years of adventure! |

These are so lovely. One day... Although I do kinda wish they'd stuck to publication order, whilst a chronological order is a nice idea, it's going to get right messed up by Autocracy.
Who do we reckon for the cover of #7? _________________ MEET ME IN THE BASEMENT :: an online radio show, playing new and old indie rock type stuff. basically, great music and awkward periods of silence. Thursdays, 10pm UK time. YOU SHOULD LISTEN. |

Going by the theme it has to be a Decepticon. BUt given that the most prominent Decepticons of the next volume are either accounted for already (Galvatron) or share the same design as someone already used (Starscream) we're whittled down to Swindle, perhaps Razorclaw, or the one I would bet on; OVERLORD.
Unless, of course, LSOTW is in vol 6. In which case I'll change that to Cyclonus. _________________

It has been confirmed LSOTW is in Volume 6. So it would have to be a Decepticon that features prominantly in the Ongoing after that storyline as for example Volume 3 is very Galvatron heavy. _________________

I've already guessed Ironhide and Hot Rod for the covers of 7 and 8. _________________ Cattleprod's guide to upcoming releases.

I do think 7 will be a Con as inkeeping with the theme of the collection. However given that LSOTW is in volume 6 I thought Springer would make more sense then Bumblebee's fat head? _________________

Bumblebee had a miniseries that was collected in volume 6, AND he's an A-lister. Volume 7 will have the Ironhide mini, so he's a likely cover choice. We're just assuming that alternating Autobots and Decepticons is an intentional theme and not just random luck. _________________ Cattleprod's guide to upcoming releases.

Ironhide's a good shout. I would guess the next volume will have:
Infestation (2 issues)
Ongoing 7-12 (6 issues)
Ironhide (4 issues)
Heart of Darkness (4 issues)
which takes us up to the standard 16. although I guess that leaves a difficult number of Ongoing issues, but it'll be a while before we see any of this... _________________ MEET ME IN THE BASEMENT :: an online radio show, playing new and old indie rock type stuff. basically, great music and awkward periods of silence. If it is going to be a decepticon, maybe a combaticon like onslaught? _________________

Just realised that V9 will probably feature Death of Optimus Prime, the first few of both RiD and MTMTE, and all of Autocracy...
I wanna pre-order it already _________________ Facsimiles are people II |
