The art, the art...

Nacho Arranz made a good job, and it's style is close to Di Vitos, but Alcazars pages were, in comparsion to the others, a really no-go.

I will give a overview over my opinion of the artists:

Di Vito: Great (Issues 0-5,8, half of nine, and a few pages at the others.)

Denis Medri: Good job. I really liked it as the recap, so the other art made sense in the context. Di Vito is a much better choice for the whole series but for recaps i would recommend Medri again. (Issue 6)

Horacio Domingues: I don't like his style (it's like Alcazars pages in the current issue - it doesn't fit). The characters look dim (parts of issue 7,9,10)

JUANAN: worst until now. Adric looks so much different. Like a hobgoblin in human disguise (part of issue 7).

Guido Guidi: that was a good job. you realize the difference in the art, but it's not too bad (part of issue 9).

Vicente Alcazar: The style is too different from Di Vitos for not believing that we look at a different group which goes to carnival as Fell's Five. (parts of issue 10 and 11).

Nacho Arranz: With Guidi the best backup artist so far. I don't know if it's own style or if he's better in copying Di Vito's style than most of the others, but with his pages I 'm not dissapointed (parts of issue 10 and 11).

Denton wrote at Facebook that with the next issue (today for you over the pond?) we will see whole DI Vito issues again. I wait for it. But if it doesn't work, i would recommend Arranz and Guidi as backups, and Medri for recaps.

Now to the story of the current issue:Really like it again, with a lot of twists. There are a few minor things: It has to be a really mighty dryad to stop a rakasha noble. It doesn't look like Adric is disguising his voice again after they went back from the golem, so Trasgar should have recognized his voice.
The stories of Rogers remember me a lot of the style with which the Leverage team works. You didn't see all that goes on, but you get it later in recaps. So Adric=Nate, Bree=Parker, Tisha=Sophie, Varis=Eliot. Okay Hardison and Khal are different, but there are no computers in the DnD world so we need someone new. hm, but Khal is always rumbling about Dwarven work like it's the greatest technik in the world (like the World Key). Smile Does somebody else also see the connections?

Wait, #12 is supposed to be out today? I have it as out on the 26th in my notes. Shocked D&D Classics vol. 2 and Legend of Drizzt #3 should be out today.

okay, maybe i got something wrong. my retailer her in germany always tells me only the month and i looked in an internet forum and there it was listed for today - but not drizzt. so maybe the poster there got it wrong. At Denton's blogspot page, there is only the classics book for today. but he also has drizzt #2 for november 9th. I think he has to refresh his dates a little bit Wink

I should be going to the stores this afternoon. I'll keep you posted.

Edit: yup, it's out. Drizzt isn't.
