Personally, I think a story that tells one event from 22 perspectives might be interesting. |
I am SO for this. _________________

Welcome aboard to Blueshift
There was also a big hint on the DA page, Alex Milne posted that he had to wait till after Origin #4 before he could post his, and on my desktop, there's an email from Simon, but that's much harder to make out.
Now that the news is out and has it's own thread, what are peoples thoughts on closing this one and using the new one from now on?
Close to 100 pages is bit intimidating for new people. _________________

I was thinking something similar the other week actually. A load of one shots all telling different viewpoints of the attack by Unicron at the end of the movie / G1 comic. |

It might be... but would it be as interesting as 23 perspectives? Although co-ordinating 22 writers, 22 artists sounds pretty fiddly, never mind 23. |

I'd say it'd be intriguing to see how it would turn out.
And "yay" for the new thread start. This one, while now legendary, is a bit unwieldly. _________________ Everything is okay to print.

Ah, Blueshift! Great minds etc. - I proposed a very similar idea some time ago - a mosaic with each different writer/artist team tackling one characters point of view on a battlefield. |

The Mosaics have showed us just what can happen when motivated people work together, we should all be very porud of the work we've done.
So it seems logical that we'd all like to push the boundries a little further.
The biggest concern with a larger group effort, is co-ordination. Keeping 44 people all on the same page would be quite difficult. Also, getting everyone to agree on what story to tell might be hard.
Not to say it isn't worth trying down the road, we've definitly learned a lot form Mosaic and the 22 page piece. _________________

What about assigning teams?
Once an overall script is established and agreed upon we can separate everyone into teams;
Someone to do the line art and someone to color it.
Then we can have someone go back and put in lettering so that way the text matches throughout. _________________

| Coordination would be key, yeah. You'd need a structure that allows characters to take action that doesn't impact too heavily on other characters. The battlefield seemed obvious, because you can have so many self-contained pockets of conflict happening in close proximity. You'd just need a map, so that the artists could do other characters in the background, and it'd all gel together. |

That's pretty much how the 22-page one is being handled. There are much fewer people invovled, so it's been relatively easy to keep everyone moving in the same direction.
If all goes well, we'll have more info next monday. _________________

I agree with the closing of this thread and starting a new one.
Then I disagree with the 22 perspectives (I'm interested anyway, and would like to take part if I'm able, of course)... I really like the Mosaic project the way it is...
...except maybe I'd agree on releaseing 2 per week. We (Iván and I) currently have 1 finished and 3 might be within a couple days or so, and it's still more than 7 weeks since the first is released... _________________ Everything I post is ok to print

Why not us doing the final battle with Thunderwing?
Some of us could write "the front lines" others about a "M*A*S*H" and other the "brains behind the lines".
Imagine Soundwave and Perceptor trying to find answers while Ratchet and Hook help the dying and the Combaticons and the Protectabots run interference for the "big guns". _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

I guess we'll just have to wait to see what the 22 pager is... |
