This is the end, beautiful friend! After years of fighting to protect his friends and the citizens of Los Angeles from the demonic hordes which populate this and other dimensions, Angel must say goodbye. Elaborate plans and selfless acts have come and gone, and now IDW presents the hardcover collection of Angel''s final three volumes: Immortality for Dummies, The Crown Prince Syndrom, and The Worf, The Ram, and The Heart into one glorious collection, including the never-before-collected Angel Yearbook.

Quote:
Hardcover: 464 pages
Publisher: IDW Publishing (November 15, 2011)
Language: English
Price: $ 49.99

The Good: A very good offer for those who quit reading Angel after ATF. A lot of content for a decent price (and don't forget an online discount).

The Bad: I guess this rules out the chance of these stories getting an oversized Premiere Edition treatment.

The Ugly: What's the point of pulling Yearbook from The Wolf, The Ram, and The Heart HC and move it here?! As an quite dedicated fan (I've got both single issues and collections), this is hard to understand. Does IDW want me to buy these stories for the third time, just so I can have Yearbook in a collected edition? Well, that aint happening!
This collection would have tempted me if it was oversized. Then it would have been a good incentive to get a third buy of these stories. But not like this.

Sorry IDW, this isn't fair play...

So does this mean we can expect a last angel in hell/aftermath hardcover collection? So that we have issues 1- 44 plus the yearbook collected?

(given that the ATF premier edition collects 1-17)

"The Worf" -- somebody watched too much Star Trek Very Happy

Thanks for the info, Bovy. If I'd known this collection was coming up, I would probably would not have bought the Immortality for Dummies and The Crown Prince Syndrome HC's (I wasn't very eager to get those in the first place) and waited for this collection instead. As it is now, I'm just going to buy the last HC and be done with it. Too bad about the Yearbook.

But I do think I will be getting the AtF Premiere Edition, even though I already have all the HC's. The big size is just too tempting (yes, size does matter).

Apparently the Yearbook has not been pulled from the Wolf, Ram & Heart HC; at least it's still listed here:

I hope that's not a mistake!

I don't know. The info on Kittyspride sounds excactly like it's cut and pasted from IDW original solicit-info, from way back in April (?).
Amazon's description is without Yearbook now.
Time will show... (I hope Kitty is correct)

Yearbook has definitely been pulled from Vol. 3. Glad to hear about "The End."

I would probably have waited for this and not got the other HCs as well. Ah well.

Yeah, it's out of all the updated solicits that I've seen. Hey, it happens. I'm just glad it's going to be collected, especially in such a big hardcover.

The luck of waiting on buying the last couple of HCs I guess. A single book will be a nice finish to the shelf (plus Spike v2 HC of course)...

Funny, I bought Immortality for Dummies and Crown Prince Syndrome just last week. The End might even be cheaper than getting Wolf, Ram, and Heart and the Yearbook separately.

This came out in comic shops next week! I believe it hits bookstores on the fourteenth.

It came out next week? Having whiskey at 10am again? :p I have seen the The End in my comic shop. It's very nicely done. I like how they included the YrkBook in the collection. I shall buy this next month along with the Illyria HC.

The End came out last week. Seems to have had limited shipping though. One of my locals is getting it tomorrow (hopefully) and the other didn't order it at all.

And I didn't realize that they were doing a HC for the Ilarya book. I figured that'd just be another TPB like a few of the others that have come along the way such as "Only Human" (for example).
