I just got it today. My only complaint it it was too short. I want my next issue! I can hardly wait.

I absolutely loved it. I liked Agent Provacatuer very much, but I loved The Forgotten. The black and white was was beautiful, and a nice touch.

I just finished reading the first issue of Doctor Who: The Forgotten last night (had trouble finding it last week because it was sold out all over town) and I thought it was a really good first issue. In fact, I'd probably say it was the best representation of Doctor Who in comic book form that I've read (including the classic British strips by Dave Gibbons et al.). Pia Guerra's art was fantastic, as usual, and the writing was crisp and exciting, really capturing both The Doctor's and Martha's voices. Definitely pick it up, if you haven't already. Hopefully , the rest of the min-series will live up to the beginning.

Loved it. I'm excited to see how this series pans out. Quite a challenge for Tony, I'd imagine. Pia pulls off the artwork chores beautifully.

Great first issue, really liked Pia's artwork. Sorry, I gotta say this, but her skills are amazing, the overall quality of her work is so much more advanced than the artists IDW picked for their first Doctor Who series...

And now I just read this on the Previews website: "The artist for IDW Publishing’s Doctor Who: Forgotten #3 (AUG08 4149, $3.99) & #4 (SEP08 4136, $3.99) has changed from Pia Guerra to Stefano Martino on #3 and Kelly Yates on #4."

So why is it necessary to change the artist again? Sad

As the link above explains - I put this post up a little while back.

"Now, this is important, it's come out in the press recently that Pia Guerra, the artist on Doctor Who: The Forgotten, has had to drop off a couple of issues in the middle of the six-part series due to personal reasons. And yes, this means that we will have one, maybe even two fill in artists.

Now, before the rumour mill kicks off, Pia is gutted to have to do this, and to ensure that everyone is aware of what has happened, she sent this statement to me before I left to go on holiday last week.

"We've been practically camped out in palliative care for over a week now helping out friends and family of a very good friend who is fighting cancer with every breath. It's a terrible situation and in no way is it possible to maintain the schedule under deadline while this is going on and that's why we have to bring in a cover artist. I'm very sorry about that but I hope readers will understand, I will be working on issues 5 and 6 and look forward to bringing this story home. "

Since this was sent to me, I understand that Pia's friend lost their battle and passed away. So please, don't criticize her for dropping off a couple of issues, send your wishes and prayers to Pia to pass on to her late friend's family.

It's true that #3 and most of #4 are 'Pia-less', but I'd be lying if I didn't say that they were still brilliant issues. I've seen the art of both and 3 captures the innocence of the 5th perfectly while issue #4?

Well lets just say it blew me away.

And then Pia returns with a nice lead into #5 with pages 21 and 22 of issue #4.

It's not a perfect world. And we could have delayed for Pia. But then the book could have risked being cancelled because although the fans would understand, retailers... Now they're a different bunch of fellows altogether...

Yeah, I was the colourist for the Fifth Doctor section of issue 3 - the art doesn't suffer, Martino has done a really good job.

My best to Pia - that's a hard situation to deal with. Sad
