Who else is totally psyched about this? That was one of the funniest movies ever, and I can't wait to see if the comic will live up to the high standard set by the film. Who is the creative crew working on this?

I loved Galaxy Quest. Don't know if I'll pick up the comic or not but I think it's great that IDW is releasing a comic based on the film.

Huh, I missed that the first time I saw the ad. D'oh. >_<

The writer's name looks very familiar. Can anyone tell me anything else he's done?

If I'm right he did X-men books and Excalibur and some other series with Marvel.

I have to say I was disappointed that the characters went back to their old ways as if the GQ adventure never happened. I have to tell you, a while back I had my friend write a GQ adventure that included me and my friends and it was hysterical. He took it from where the adventure left off and what happened after the movie taking in to account what they learned from the movie. I liked the art work just not the the way the characters were portrayed. I think Fred and Laliari were the only ones who were portrayed appropriately
I'll get 2 and see what happens but unless I see some kind of change I don;t see myself getting further adventures. I love the Movie and always will. I've seen it more times than star wars. Wink

Now that someone's made a thread about this, I can finally bring this up. I put up an subscription for this series the week before it came out (I know, cutting close to the wire), and two weeks later, I've yet to recieve the first issue. Did it get a short print run or something? I can't believe it sold out a week after it came out (just like I can't believe Avengers Fairy Tales #3, which I also put out an order for and have yet to get, sold out that quickly.)

Since #2 comes out this week, and I've yet to see anyplace get #1, can I get some sort of an answer on this?

I just got three comics on my desk for a project we may be doing (for free, too!), and I liked them, gave me a few giggles. Now I'm going to have to buy them! I hope my store carries them. The only concern I have with the art is maybe some anatomy issues, but it is "cartoony" and Galaxy Quest, so it's no biggy.

Does anyone know when the TPB is coming out? All I know is that it's coming out sometime next month, but an exact date would be awesome to know.

Is this thing still going, or is it done now?

I think it should be done by now, but I don't know. I don't think I actually found any issues at my comic store. Diamond has been infuriating.

It came out on March 4 with a shiny new piece of cover art, too.
