Hey! I'm new, but I've been lurking quite a long time.

I just wanted to say congratulations to Brian, Franco and all of IDW for this success and I'm sure it will continue. This has been top of my comics wishlist for a very long time now (knocking aside some old favourites).

I also can't understand the reviewer's criticism of Franco's artwork. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but myself I like the darker palette. I'll admit that I actually prefer Franco's artwork to Jeanty's (not to knock the latter) and I think it very much fits the tone of Angel. He also puts so much detail in, so I can spend ages looking at a single page.

Also, I'm agreeing with those that think the person 'faded into the background' might be Gwen.

Good post Kelpie_Queen. Yes this comic will be an event to look forward to, and great artwork. Very much in keeping with the tone of the Angel series. Lovely touches of dark, which I love.

And loads of hidden extras to keep you looking at the panels again and again.

Welcome to the board, Kelpie Queen.

With you on preferring Franco's artwork to Georges Jeanty's. Am not much of a fan of his, I'm afraid, but leave that aside, I do like Franco's ability to draw the characters and make them very recognisable without them necessarily looking exactly like the actors who played them in the show. It's a difficult trick to pull off.
