I like the "Haunted Horror" series by IDW's Yoe Books imprint. I can't afford the high-priced hardcovers of classic horror reprints, so this series is the right price for me. Even though, it looks like the comics are scanned in as opposed to remastered (or whatever they call it), the stories still look good enough for me. I just hope that sales for this series are good enough to continue it for at least a few years. We've seen other reprint comics get cancelled after only a few issues due to poor sales, so I'm wondering how this series is doing. If anyone knows, let me know.

Also, does anyone know if IDW or Yoe's Books is planning more classic reprint series like this one? I would like to see more classic horror titles and also classic sci-fi reprints as well, as long as they're at this cheap of a price. I would love to see the classic series "UFO Flying Saucers" a.k.a. "UFO & Outer Space" reprinted in color in its entirety.

If anyone else is buying this "Haunted Horror" series or if anyone knows the answers to my questions, please reply.

You're likely to see this reprinted as part of the Dark Horse Archives, since it's owned by Random House along with the other Gold Key Comics/Western Publishing original material that Dark Horse licenses through Classic Media -- so expect a series of $50-60 hardcovers, although it's hard to say how high it might be on the list of priorities. Then again, who ever expected them to reprint BORIS KARLOFF'S TALES OF MYSTERY, so who knows. The likelihood of seeing this reprinted in the floppy comics format is practically nonexistent.

These hardcovers may seem expensive, but really, they're not that much more expensive than buying the individual comics, when you do the math. If you buy ten $4 comics, you've already spent $40, when for another $10-$20 you could have the same material in a nicer permanent book. I'd say the only major advantage of the $4 floppy comic is that you could decide to quit buying it at any time. So if you have more than a casual commitment to the material, why not just buy it in bigger chunks?

I frankly don't see how titles like Classic Popeye and Haunted Horror can survive as $4 floppy comics in today's marketplace and economy, as much as I personally enjoy them. Have you seen the prices AC Comics is charging for their reprint comics?? Yikes! It makes the prices on something like PS Artbooks' hardcovers reprint collections seem entirely reasonable, even economical.

Haunted Horror #3 is due out Feb. 27, 2013.

Most hardback comic book archives are about $50 list, but if you check on places like Amazon, you can get prices close to around $30, so very reasonable actually.

But like the other poster stated, I just don't see much of an interest in an archive of Gold Key's UFO Flying Saucers title.

Actually, I think it does seem like a likely choice for a Dark Horse Archives collection, given the fact that they seem to be working their way systematically through all the non-licensed Gold Key comics originated by Western Publishing. What I said was, the likelihood of seeing this reprinted in the floppy comics format is practically nonexistent.

If Dark Horse does do an Archive series of UFO FLYING SAUCERS/UFO & OUTER SPACE, they'll have MY money in a heartbeat.
