Recently- I read that Roberts was going to revisit the -ations phase. I'm not mentioning earth or organics but I can't wait to see what he has in store for the readers. That's why I love the tf idw collection hardcovers-sub-plots and character appearances are told far apart- the reader is rewarded for sticking in there. I'm curious what other fans would like to see.

A lot of creators say that, just because Roberts says that he would like to revisit that era (I don't I would rather to see the franchise move forwards not go backwards) doesn't mean he is going to be able too for any number of reasons.

BTW cashel if you read interview that no one here has seen please post it.

With all due respect, at this point the -ations phase is like stepping into another Universe or continuity. And every time I read any of it, I am constantly under the shadow of what the AHM/Costa era of errors did to the storyline at the end.

So please, for the love of all that is good in the current books, don't go back, Idw.

Get your BB Spotlight out so Hasbro can have another BB toy on the shelves with a comic to go with it and just leave it alone after that.

1. DON'T take us back to earth.
2. DON'T think anyone cares what happened to Spike.
3. DON'T worry about putting earth in the story if you need to bring Verity back, just let her monologue on where she's been.

I'm with HLS here, I'm afraid. As much as I loved the -Ations and thought the infiltration protocols were a great idea at the time, it all was royally screwed up by AHM and Costa. I too don't think it would be possible to go back again with out messing up the current storylines. I all for tying the current storylines to Furman' s run and even better, what happened before that, though, as it makes it all the more easier to pretend the Costa run never happened.

One thing I would like to see make a comeback from that era is EJ Su. I liked his style.

Me too. His art in Infiltration and Escalation was some of the best I've ever seen.

I think if anything he'd just like to revisit some themes, or connect some current events to that time.

I would like to see Verity magically appearing on the Lost Light though!

But Barber is already looking back to the -tion series. The whole plot line involving shockwaves ores and Jhiaxus is a great way to link to the past without dragging up all the muck along the way. And he gave a nod to Nemisis and Galvatron in the annual. And the Ironhide plot links to the end of Costas run and the end of Revelations

But there's not a lot else that Roberts or Barber need to finish up regarding the early stuff -

Nemisis Prime - Destroyed
Machination - Destroyed
Dead Universe - Dead
Spike - I would personally love to see him show up as a rogue alien bounty hunter - and then if Prowl gets his revenge all the better Smile
Humans in general - Rebuilding their planet, moved on, no need to go back just yet.
Hunter - Dead
Reapers - Destroyed (thank god)
Scorponok - hmmmm...

So there's not much left to go back to. I'd like Scorponok to turn up, but not as a big bad (we've loads of them). I think it would be interesting to see him mentally damaged after his "head" trauma.

One thing which I loved from Furmans run, but makes no sense at this point, was the facimilies. That was a great idea for an invading alien force that worked in the shadows - not just disguised as machinery but also the actual population.

Summing up? There's no meat left on Furman & Costas Carcass. The one

So basically, MOST of us agree that the best elements of the -ations-to-errors era are already being brought back, and that the absolute worst are Spike and Earth.

I also advise Idw that if Hasbro wants an earth centric, human/army/chick loaded comic to go along with the next movie, they need to NOT derail the Idw continuity books like MTMTE and RiD to ram that stuff in there. Turning the galaxy wide conflict and Universe spanning mythos of the Idw verse into "Autobots on earth with human buddies(who all work for the freaking government, of course) searching for rogue cons with Bumblebee as a sports car" didn't work in 2009, and it won't work in 2014 either.

As for Verity. I want her back. Somehow. In fact, I wish after issues 4-13 of MTMTE she could have been on the lost light. I never thought when this book started, I'd end up saying that, of course.
