Then it seems that you have little choice but to not discuss it there and discuss it here, my friend. That's just how the internet, and life in general, works. I only talk Ghostbusters with my Ghostbusters friends. I only talk comics with my comics friends. |
Same here! And I only watch porn with my porn friends. Er...wait. |
I've heard of the buddy system but that's a line I won't cross. _________________

I think Erik and Dan have done a great job so far. I've read the business reasons given for "rebooting" the series with a new Number 1 - but I was mostly upset to see how many different covers they were planning for the number 1. I know I don't have to get them all - but I have so far, so I don't really want to stop now. I was really happy when they dropped down from 3 covers to 2, and I think the new number one is going to have 5 (if not 6). And I know we've been down this discussion road before, so I won't harp on it, but geez.
As to hype for the new comic - outside the GB sites that I visit regularly, I really haven't seen any. But at the same time, I wouldn't really expect to see any hype outside those. I understand that most people recognize the "no ghosts" logo (I think there was a study back when the video game was being made that said the GB logo is second in recognition, only behind Coke). But those of us that buy these products are really a niche market. |

A-D are of the new team individually, RI is a team shot, and there's a special subscription cover for loyal LCS patrons, using the art from the New Ghostbusters teaser (one with Janine at Peter's desk of photos of various characters). At least it's not 16 like Volume #1's first issue. Boy, that was an investment. _________________ Ghostbusters Volume 2 #4 Notes |

At least it's not a pointless reboot of the continuity like DC's New 52.
Now that would be silly. _________________ "Nature has a way sometimes of reminding Man of just how small he is. She occasionally throws up terrible offspring's of our pride and carelessness to remind us of how puny we really are in the face of a tornado, an earthquake, or a Godzilla." |

Well, I prefer it to cancellation. (: |
BA-ZING.
It's not even a relaunch, they're just having fun with the numbers to reflect the new team. Still the same canon, still the same characters. It's honestly just a new arc, and half of it is still going to feature the guys. Once it's over it's right back to the regular series. _________________

Exactly. The Godzilla book did exactly that. They did like a a 12 issue run with the Kingdom of Monsters title and now it's just called Godzilla BUT, it still follows the same continuity, time,ok the characters are different but they died or disappeared with the plot and it moved on. _________________ "Nature has a way sometimes of reminding Man of just how small he is. The Dark was probably the best thing to come out of the New 52 relaunch but, even those books have diminished in quality.
What also amazes me about that relaunch is the amount of books that have already been cancelled and replaced with other books.
Using The Dark book line as an example, they dropped really good books like Resurrection Man after 12 issues, they recently dropped the Frankenstein book along with I,Vampire BUT then they get replaced with crap like The Phantom Stranger. in my opinion that book has sucked from the first issue.
WOW! I've gone so off topic. Sorry folks! Rant over. _________________ "Nature has a way sometimes of reminding Man of just how small he is. it's just when something relaunches things are expected to be different relaunching to keep everyone's attention doesn't go over well with most readers
besides it's hard to say if relaunching will bring in many more new readers as opposed to not relaunching and simply having the new story line as a jumping on point |
