| Saw this "evil virus" thing back when I watched the Smurfs as a kid. Liked it then, not impressed with it now. |

Starting to really get into Regen now. Good issue and plenty going on to keep this arc and future ones fun. Its not as packed to the brim as MTMTE but its a very different style and one i'm loving!
Skyshadow answered the evil key question more ably than i could, yeah the science of jamming a key into a bot to make 'em evil seems a bit sketchy to me but the principal is there and its certainly nowhere near as far off as some of Costas concepts! _________________ -----

| I remember Primus' face from the old series, though it just always seemed kind of generic 'bot to me. As this is the first time (in the US) I remember Hot Rod and Primus being in the same comic, anyone else notice how their faces/heads are almost identical? |

Good read... seems we have a theme this month... Autobots joining the Cons....
Grimlock has his reasons... whether good ones or not...
The whole plate n key turn Autobot into Con thing seems um.a tad 80's generic.. but I'll let it go....
Hopefully more focus on Soundwave/Bludgeon next month. _________________ Everything I post is ok to print, use, copy, use for inspiration, promote world peace, change lives, etc...and so on and so on.

I would not be surprised to learn that there is a tangible connection, given I'm sure Primus' design has been deliberate going back to the 80s. In fact, I'll be surprised if Furman DOESN'T explore this. _________________

^ i'd long thought the same thing....go back (over the series) and look at Primus's design when he had a body... _________________ "You are all individuals" "We are all individuals" "I'm not!"

That's my point. I think this is leading towards a "revelation" about Hot Rod that is directly related to this intentional similarity. |

A revelation for which I can't wait, to be honest. Furman's probably had something in mind for 20 years now (albeit shaped by new ideas that have come into the fandom since then) and it'll be nice to see what that is.
Heck - maybe Hot Rod's a backup body or something like that. Wouldn't put it past Primus to be a dick like that. _________________

While we can hum and haw about method of choice on the CNA key... What can we say about the execution? >> in some cases... Literally!
Lol, I managed to hold myself back from previews and sneaking in here, for which I am eternally grateful, it felt like an experience again to read the book cover to cover as a surprise and it actually felt better for it I gotta say =o
So much stuff hits so many fans, Earth, Cybertron, Nebulos... But it's all been covered by most folks, I loved little moments like the sudden flash forward of Grimlock being tossed into the cell and the collective relief of everyone he was in, lol, or Perceptor doing what he does best as a scientist and glancing Grimlock
The inverted personalities however. Ooooooooh, I feel as if I picked up Shattered Glass and just managed to avoid nicking myself, who can resist Pereceptor's evil little inset to Kick Off, or the almost baddie quality on Highbrow and co?
Yes, a little silly, but I love it.
An awesome issue this month, can't wait for more! _________________ I'm a pony!

Gotta say the book is shaping up to be a pretty interesting read, I look forward to seeing Scorponock's plan plays out next issue. Also, Galvatron & Shockwave possibly teaming up? Interesting.
And poor Star Scream, he can't annoy others with his wondeful voice anymore, however will the rest of the Transformers survive without having to hear what Star Scream has to say!? _________________ Timelords, Sailors, & Ponies, OH MY! |

Furman's already noted that similarity himself in interviews about RG1 (as well as promising to cover it) so I think you'll be happy. =) |

This was a solid read but unfortunately it doesnt have the same impact on me that MTMTE and RiD have. Dont get me wrong it was a good issue. It just isnt really firing on all cylinders for me as a series.
Some good sequences here. Wildman does some great images and great to see Galvatron again. But meh..... noit sure Im overly impressed by the CnA code or whatever it is regarding being an Autobot or a Con.
Overall will continue to follow the series and hope we see much more Galvatron too. _________________

Given that Galvatron is a Furman fave I think we can confirm that he will feature heavily in the future stories.
If you don't mind me asking Ultramagnus1, are you a UK or US citizen and how old are you? I only ask as I'm UK and was a small child when the original comic was at it's height so I was pretty much raised on Simon Furman's stories and have a good understanding of his writing styles with long myriad plots that have a good payoff and so probably am a little biased towards ReGen One issues as it feels like picking up the series where it finished.
The advantage of being a UK reader (or potential disadvantage now) is that as a child Simon Furman's stories were fed to me weekly which helped form a very nice routine and advance any plot quite nicely, even though I got a smaller comic with less of a story it was drip-fed in a consistent manner, but perhaps now being a monthly series given to a generation who grew up on getting everything instantly the writing styles don't give as much as they should?
Sorry I'm rambling now but the point being that I've never felt let down by a Furman story arc yet, but that comes from being brought up with it. |

Hmmm well you are obviously a new forumite so Ill let it pass
No Im Irish and in my late thirties. I grew up with Simon Furmans writings reading Marvel UK every week. I loved it and he was my literary idol. I know his work back to front. Target 2006, Legacy Of Unicron and Time Wars to name but a few crackers. Massive fan but for me I think Ive changed as a reader and what interests me as a TF fan. He is a legend and I will follow the series as I want to see how it ends having grown up with the series. Its just that MTMTe and RiD are having more of an impact with me.
Incidentally did you read Nefarious the movieverse six parter he wrote? To me that wasnt vintage Furman but I think he would agree with that himself. _________________
