Hey Bobby,
Since we have to wait longer for the issue, would it be okay if we can see what the variant cover looks like? I'm dying to know what it is. |

Yeah, me too. I think IDW owns us something for the delay... _________________ C L I C K . You know you want to...

TK's review's been up for a while now:
http://www.tohokingdom.com/comics/idw_godzilla_half_century_war_04.html
And my friend Destroyer's review:
http://www.unleashthefanboy.com/comics/godzilla-half-century-war-4-review/38709
And now for my "review":
Stokoe never fails to deliever. Yet another fantastic issue, leaving only one left to go. And judging by the cliffhanger in the final panel, I like where we're going. Next issue will surely satisfy.
In terms of the story, while I wouldn't say this issue had the strongest plot, it was still quite enjoyable. As said in TK's review, there's great character interaction between Ota and Ken. Most of the rest of the issue is just the fight, and while it was awesome, it didn't make the issue feel strong plot-wise.
Just as the AMF deploys their greatest attack on Godzilla yet, Spacegodzilla shows up and ruins everything. Spacegodzilla seems nearly impossible to kill, forcing Ota to help the beast he's been trying to destroy all his life.
It's also worth mentioning that Spacegodzilla uses a number of his movie powers in this comic. It'll really satisfy fans to see all these powers used.
The art was fantastic, as always. A few shots here and there were a bit off, but nothing too bad. Mechagodzilla is fantastic, but Spacegodzilla steals the show, looking perfect in every panel. Spacegodzilla's arrival was particularly goregous.
SPOILERS!!!!
Felt like sharing a few other things:
Dr. Deverich returns, and gets exactly what's coming to him, thanks to Ota. It was great to see him get beat up. Especially since he represents Devlin and Emmerich.
Some of you might have heard that Gigan and Ghidorah are in this issue. Do NOT expect much. They're simply tiny silloettes against a planet, nearly impossible to identify. They look like little black ink sploches.
END SPOILERS!!!!
Overall, this issue was great, like the previous issues. I cannot express how important it is for you to get this series. This is certainly a must-have for all Godzilla fans. _________________ C L I C K . You know you want to...

Agreed! This issue was indeed a great one! artwork is amazing (like always), and the characters and monsters are fun. However, I will admit that I didn't fee this was stronger than issue #3. I also feel that Spacegodzilla got beat a little TOO easily.
Oh well, still a great comic and I can't wait for the next issue with Gigan and Ghidorah. But I thought it was mentioned we would be getting two "new" monsters in #5? |

Where'd you hear that? I heard we'll be getting one new monster, not two.
And there could obviously be more than just Gigan and Ghidorah in the next issue!

| They mentioned drills in this issue and the doctor. So since Mechagodzilla is out of commission, my money is that the new monster will be Moguera! Ota and Ken will have to use it to team up with Godzilla to fight Gigan and Ghidorah. They kinda set it up that Godzilla will be their ally. |

Possible Spoilers: Yet again my biggest complaint about the series is that I wish it were 10 to 12 issues (I also wouldn't have minded seeing Godzilla get a few more shots in on MG and SpG in their fights) I would have loved to have this story be 2 or 3 issues. This is definately SpaceGodzilla's show, he comes off more menacing than in his original film, Stokoe really has a talent for making the spikes on these creature look sharp enough to tear you apart. And those guys who hired Deverich, anyone we know you think? possibly from a neighborhood somewhere behind Jupiter All in all another fine issue |

They kind of made me think of the Krangs from the new Ninja Turtles cartoon, which of course make me think of agents from the Matrix, or anyone of the many faceless look alike alien spies from old movies. |

Finally got this in the mail today!
Once again, James Stokoe knocks it out of the ball park!! Great writing and glorious art!
Ota continues to be an always interesting character, while the the Godzilla and co. are all handled great, story-wise and art wise.
The only thing preventing this from getting a perfect 10 is the hastly conclusion, in my opinion. This would have really worked out if the battle was continued in one more issue.
But nevertheless, it' still great!
9/10

Another great issue in an amazing series.
Really wish we could have had a longer fight with SpaceG though. He's setup to be such a powerful foe then taken out in 1 shot. |
