Also the most likely to come damaged Sad. He uses the cheapest shipping method in existence (USPS Media Mail). I had to return the first one I got, since it got a crease in it from Derpy the Mailmare bending the cardboard envelope it came in. I'm hoping he ships the next one UPS, but at the same time I know the chances of that happening are 0%.

Once I get a good copy of it, then my issue #1 collection will be complete Very Happy.

I didn't find that with my package from Larry's; although that could be due to the difference between how he sends domestic vs. international orders. Mine was sent in a relatively sturdy flat-rate priority envelope (although the postage was just 1st-class international parcel), and definitely wasn't bendable.

How do you know when your order shipped? Did you get proper tracking information with your orders?

My tracking info was pretty incorrect. I got it super early (a week after I ordered) and it still hasn't updated.

In any case, I'll still wait about a 2-3 more business days before doing anything. I'm just getting really anxious waiting for mine to come! Hopefully it will just come today and I will have just worried over nothing.

I got a lot of weird shipping info from my Larry's order too... though my understanding is that this is likely a Paypal thing. I have friends who do a lot of eBay shipping, and from what they tell me Paypal sends out an email updating shipping status as soon as the seller prints up the shipping information... which is not necessarily the same day they drop it in the mailbox.

In theory, if you're pre-ordering a book, there's no way Larry (or anyone else) can send it sooner then the day the book is scheduled for release. At best, Diamond Comics only ships to retailers for delivery the day before the book can go on sale, and even that is only for retailers who pay for early delivery... but either way, they don't have the books weeks ahead of time. So when you get your tracking info that early, you pretty much know you'll have to wait a few weeks for the tracking info to actually be useful.

Pretty sure. I mean, with all the other ones, they seem to tell me it shipped as soon as I ordered it, but they didn't do that with #1 for some reason.

Of all the stores I've dealt with for #1, Lone Star by far had the best packing. I received mine today (they must've sent it by some kind of super priority to get Canada Post out making a delivery on Sunday morning, lol), so now the only available cover I'm still waiting for is Hastings.

The only cover I have not received is from Dynamic Forces. On their site it says "Waiting for Inventory to Arrive at Shipping Location". I assume you guys have already received yours, and if so, I need to send them an email.

Also, about to update the list because my last edit seems to have undone itself for some reason...

I believe that I was told that the Dynamic Forces variant is shipping next month (I also have yet to receive mine).

If that's not true, then I need to email them as well.

Still no luck trying to contact Larry over the Issue 1 Variant. I hate to do this, but I might need to escalate the case via Paypal to actually get him to talk to me.

Yeah, Dynamic Forces covers have yet to ship; and probably won't 'til sometime in January (I've heard the 8th, but who knows). That's why I said specified "available" covers in my last post, since there's still one edition of #1 not shipping.

I don't know how much this applies to anyone who ordered the Dynamic Forces cover directly from their website, but the DF variant was also solicited in the November issue of Previews. If you ordered it there (via a local comic shop or whoever), it has an estimated ship date of Jan. 30th.

Yep that's true, I was extremely upset. Both of my micro and Larry Excl RD cover was damaged, corner crunched... All he packed was small cardboard package (similar to all other comic store package) with JUST thin padding lying there on one side and comics itself, comics could bounce around inside while it was shipping.

Larry sent me another.. in good shape this time.

When you asked for another copy, did you just email Larry? Or did you go through PayPal?

My Thirdeye Variant finally came in and the mailman stuffed it into my mailbox and it's super bent out of shape. So I'm wondering what's the best method to get it replaced.

It's sad for me to say that I had to get my money back by going through PayPal. My customer experience with Larry is that he is the stereotypical "Comic Book Guy." Confused

He gave me an extremely hard time through our whole string of Email communication. He had me send back the comic, claimed there was no damage, then stopped communicating with me! After him sitting on my money and comic for the good part of a week, I finally complained to PayPal and they just credited my account.

I bought another from an eBay seller, actually less than what he's currently selling them for. I'll probably do this for his future variants, since I would feel stupid ordering from him again after this whole ordeal.

I'm glad I stayed out of it from the beginning then, sheesh.
