Looks like Star Trek #15 will see the JJ Mirror Universe. I hope it lives up to the classic TOS episode.
The only way I can see the Mirror Universe having the JJ Universe Tech is that the Empire expanded on the Prime Defiant's tech (From In a Mirror Darkly) and advanced their knowledge. Also would Mirror Vulcan be there or was there a Mirror Nero that destroyed that Vulcan too? _________________ Sean P. Tourangeau

Surely a "mirror Nero" would be a good guy and not go about blowing up planets? Maybe he travelled back in time to PREVENT Vulcan from being blown up at the hands of Mirror Spock or Kirk! _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

I'm really waiting for this issue.... it would be the.... what.... fourh or fifth approach to the MU when also counting all the novels _________________ 'Play with friends, be a Hero!'

I wonder if it'll be a going concern rather then a one-off story?
I'd also like to see a universe where the Terran Empire doesn't "fall". _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

So issue #15 is out, not a bad start, I like the intro via Scotty and Bones discussing the multiverse (nice cameo for a picture of Deforest Kelly and James Doohan) and then into the fun and games of a Mirrorverse with no "crossover" (yet) from the Abramsverse.
It's full of nice little callbacks to the first movie and the Nero comic
| Spoilers, highlight to read wrote: | Spock's the Captain of the Enterprise, obviously if/when he and Kirk threw down like they did in the film Spock overpowered him and Kirk's appeal to logic failed.
Nero's in Rura Pentha, and hasn't escaped presumably because there's no Terrans in the prison with him.
There's a nice reference to the original "Mirror, Mirror" with Kirk's cabal including McCoy, Sulu and Scot, and Kirk's got the scar on his cheek not Sulu though this time (no eye-patches yet).
The plot's a nice little reference to the Enterprise "Dark Mirror" episodes, with the second-in-command taking command of a more powerful vessel and obliterating the Enterprise along with his now betrayed captain presumably aboard. Emperor Tiberius in issue #16 perhaps? |

| One thing that bugs me a bit is that the non-mirror Enterprise is the refit NCC-1701/NCC-1701-A version (from the prime universe). Is this a mistake, or are we looking at a third reality (not the alternate reality nor the prime reality)? I have a hard time believing a mistake like this got past the writers, artists, et al. |

.. well, wouldn't be the first one, even in the comics...but they get fewer and fewer compared to older issues from DC or Marvel _________________ 'Play with friends, be a Hero!'

I'd like an answer to this as well. Seems like a pretty blatant mistake, however the art in this issue didn't work much for me across the board, so I suppose it is less conspicuous than it would be elsewhere. |

Umm, not to be critical or anything ... but that's not the "right" Enterprise in the last few panels, it's the Refit/Enterprise-A from the Shatner movies, not the upgraded Enterprise in the Pine movies.
Mind you, the framing device could be an alternative Scot and McCoy I suppose... _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

I noticed the different Enterprise as well. I really don't think this is a mistake. I think they're toying with us.
Seriously, it adds to the idea of parallel universes and keeps us wondering. Just my opinion, but I don't see it as a mistake. _________________ ~ Chris J ~
