Hey Matches,

Cool, thanks. I'm fond of #16. Hard to put a finger on why exactly, but probably my favorite issue since #5. Feels like we're getting to a place where we can "play around" a bit more, and make it "ours."

That's a good question about the Eastman sketch. It's not new. At one of the creative summits, Kevin brought a whole batch of old sketches for inspiration, and the church layout was among them. The stuff looked relatively recent, but before IDW TMNT. So somewhere in the past 10-15 years? If I remember I'll ask him!

Hi Matches,

That all sounds reasonable. And your assessment is largely right: I don't want to say an issue takes place in between issues that won't come out for several months, especially when it doesn't make a real difference.

It's especially easy to figure this stuff out AFTER the issues are out... it's easier to see how things could possibly slot in. It's a lot harder to juggle continuity BEFORE the issues come out, and the future ongoing stories are even written.

I'm not thinking about it hard right now, but I don't see any reason why your placement wouldn't work, and i agree it might make things a bit smoother, when reading all of them together.

Just in case you were still keeping an official track of the timeline, the order goes April, Casey, Sins of the Father, Annual, then Blood Brothers.

#15 explicitly states that Slash escaped two weeks ago, so that solves that. Fugitoid is still kind of up in the air, but it's mostly flashback... so any time after #12 is fine.

Any ways, 16 was an awesome read. The ending was great on many levels. I really felt for Mikey despite disagreeing with his stance, and the idea of Hob recruiting/creating mutants to get back at Stockman with Slash as his #2 is just soooo cool. You guys have set up some potentially awesome stuff for sure.

Nice! Yeah, I was actually thinking something along those lines today myself! It feels like you guys have kind of found your rhythm and things feel pretty established now. #1-12 is great, but it does feel like a big introduction, up to the Shredder. Now you guys can really play around with what's been set-up, and I think it's only going to keep getting better!

And the church layout is so awesome. I remember the turtles briefly had a church hideout in Volume 2, when they all split up. I wonder if it was from those days...?

Thanks for the nice words, Nines.

Why April before Casey? Couldn't that two weeks pass in between #13 & #14?

Well the editor's note on the inside cover of April states that it takes place between #12 and #13.

Sins of the Father and the annual aren't long-running stories, they each take place over the course of a night, so they fit just fine in the 2 weeks of Slash's freedom.

what the hell does that editor know, anyway?

I think I said that because Casey wasn't around (living with them) yet during April micro, but he could have been at class or something...

I should actually go back and read the these issues.

Extremely sad news: Franco Urru, artist of TMNT Micro-series: Raphael, passed away today. I'm afraid I don't know many details of his death— he had been battling health problems for a while, but I didn't know it was anything that could lead to something like this.

Franco was extremely talented, and although I just worked with him on the one book, I counted him as a friend. An extremely warm, kind and funny person.

We'll miss you, Franco!

OMG! That's too bad. I loved that Raph issue too. He'll be missed indeed.

I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. I really loved his art. My prayers are with his family.

On a side note, Bobby - I buy all the ongoing TMNT comics on my iPad, but I noticed that the Ninja Notes is never part of the comic at the end. Is there a plan to include them in the future? I was bummed to hear that I missed out on some Eastman artwork because the notes weren't included in the digital comic. Plus, I sent a letter to Ninja Notes a couple months ago on this forum site, but without the last few pages of the comic, I don't know if my letter was published.

He was an amazing artist and his work in the Raph microseries was positively lavish.

I never knew him, so all I can really say is that the man had talent and his absence in the industry will be dearly missed.

Thanks for the sentiments, folks— i'm always impressed by the TMNT fan community.

Preston, I know next to nothing about the digital program, I'm afraid. I can only guess that the program is set up for the standard 22 pages, and any bonus content doesn't apply. But i'm really just making that up, I couldn't say for sure. Could be a question for "letters@idwpublising.com" — mark the subject "TMNT Digital question" or something... might get a proper answer that way.

Hello Bobby,

Any plans on referencing / tying-in / revisiting the events from Tristan's Infestation issues? They are the only issues that have not been mentioned in the ongoing series. While we know when they would have taken place, they have kind of been ignored. I'm not saying we need a full on story arc, but you could explore stuff with Donatello, especially the way it ended.

I don't want to close the door on it, I like the story, and Tristan's awesome. But that story really was conceived "outside" the main story that's happening in the ongoing, whereas the micros are really intended to be companion stories. So there hasn't been any natural opportunity to talk about it, and I don't see it fitting into the story in the next year.

But maybe one day!

Honestly, the story flows so much better without the Infestation issues.
