We have some of the first reviews!
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/11/27/review-my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic-1/
"Yes, you should pick this up, especially if you have younger kids who like the show, or if you or anyone you know misses Tiny Titans.
Yes, I am going to watch an episode or two of the show to see what it’s like.
No, I don’t have a favourite Pony*
*Yes I do, it’s Rainbow Dash."

"This is a comic that meets expectations and delivers on what readers will want and expect. Sometimes, what more can you ask for?"

8/10

"Overall, Friendship is Magic #1 is a worthy comic of the title. It successfully captures the tone and spirit of the show, you’ll be smiling the whole way through. So a tip of the hat to writer Katie Cook. Artist Andy Price handles the Ponies and characters extremely well in their reactions to the situation, cartoony in a good way. This is definitely a comic I, and as fans should, look forward to every month. (A great companion to Season 3, wouldn’t you agree?)"
5/5

"We can go ahead and shut the Eisner Awards down right now, because there's no way we're getting anything better than that this year.

| Around what time are comics released on iTunes? Is it immediately when it becomes the release date, or some other time to match store hours, like 8 AM EST? |

You can get comics on iTunes? Or do you mean Comixology? I'm in a totally different time zone (Sydney Aus) so it's late on a Wednesday night for me. _________________ Twitter: @lukeabarnett

You can get the comic through both service.
Note that on iTunes you can only view them through Apple products. DRM and all that. |

I was very excited about this comic, until I found out that digital issues are not available for people outside North America. I'm very disappointed about this. _________________ Admin @ The Great Rebellion - Collector's Club

Oh brilliant, again? We've had the same problems with Transformers. And we've got them still for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. _________________

Turns out my main LCS didn't get them in today. I could've tried my secondary, but i'll be patient. Will have to check out some reviews though. I'm expecting great things. _________________ The biggest disability in life is a bad attitude. |

Just checked and it's okay for me. Someone went out and got me a paper copy (Fluttershy <3), so I am a lil disappointed to hear its the TMNT/Transformers situation again, but I hope that they sort it through carefully...
But I've now read/reread the comic in paper form and I'm happy to have gotten it witho needing to wait for my Derpy cover, that one I'll keep safe to keep/get signed/do whatever I may with <3
This one I'll keep rereading, it definitely fit the bill for a pony comic, the in jokes, the references to movies (Dear CELESTIA, a Shaun of the Dead reference in a Ponies story? YES!) and the delightful first page of the whole town, all the ponies that are the more knowable background characters, they really went all out
Everyone felt like they should and I could even hear the voices once or twice in my head, which was an awesome feeling to let it just play out bit by bit, sometimes my eyes were moving too fast for my brain to keep up, just trying to take it all in at once
There was a bit of an Archie Sonic comic feel to it, the colors and highlights all looked gorgeous, and the Disney/Looney Toons sight gags of signposts and such all fit it well, it's a comic I'd happily share with kids inn the FiM.intended age group ^^
...
But dear GOD, I thought ULTRA MAGNUS from Transformera had the title of creepiest smile, how would I ever know it would be Pinkie instead?! I see new icons coming in the near future, lol
I don't want to post too much detail being that many folk are waiting for their own copies, but consider me happy and consider me here for the haul ^^
Thank you IDW, thank you Ponies crew for all the work, I hope your profit is as proportionate as the effort behind this! _________________ I'm a pony!

OK, the first issue seems now to be available internationally too (no idea what the hold up was). I just got it from Comixology and after reading it, I liked it very much. _________________ Admin @ The Great Rebellion - Collector's Club

I just want to say....
I LOVE THIS COMIC!
The art, the pacing, the dialogue from the characters, everything just, it just clicks!
Someone at IDW give Kate & Andy a big ol hug from me! Thanks to them I know have renewed faith in All-Ages comics again!
ahh i'll do it *hugs Cook & Price through laptop*
Seriously this book, I have nothing but genuinely nice things to say about it, I can say it deffinantly met & passed expectations, and I look forward to picking this book *and the upcoming micro-series* up at my local comic shop each month!
*goes back to oogling awesome facial expressions in book* _________________ Timelords, Sailors, & Ponies, OH MY! |
