Hey guys

Currently writing the script to issue #2 of the Cobra Files so I thought I'd pop in here and see which characters people were talking about.

I can say this - a character who shows up in issue 1 has been mentioned on that list. But it pleases me greatly that others who show up for the rest of the arc have not been mentioned at all.

Hope you like what I've done with them.

Any chance we'll get to see Bio-Viper?

If Dixon is having Zartan and the Dreadnoks in Special Missions, then would it be possible for Costa to write Zarana and Zandar in Cobra and later have a crossover with the whole team coming together?

(Wow eagleeyes, I made this post without even seeing yours first. Seconded!)

Zarana & Zandar, please! Dixon has the Dreadnoks, but I don't believe it's necessary for them to be Dreadnoks right away. And with one of the Crimson Twins dead now, and Tomax having to learn to live in the void of himself, there are no longer a surviving pair of twins currently in the comics. You did know that about Zarana & Zandar..right? Smile (Tomax and Xamot were mirror image identical twins, but what sort of twins are Zartan's siblings? They look too unusually similar to be ordinary fraternal twins.)

The only reason I bring this up is because it isn't well known and it would be nice to see it finally.

Anyone know if there are plans for Zandar and Zarana in the works?

Mr. Costa,

It would be cool to have Firefly return but I hope you continue to create new characters like Black Light (ok, you didn't create him but you made him interesting), Clockspring, Chameleon, and Ronin (sort of Jinx but sort of not).

Thank you for making Chameleon such an awesome, awesome character! I know she is dealing with being out in the field, but I'd love to see the side of her that made her successful at Cobra.

And I am still waiting for her romance with Lady Jaye to happen.

I also hear that Cobra Commander is "too big" for Cobra Files, but his character could really benefit from your writing.

How cool would it be to see Costa's take on Wild Weasel? I mean a mercenary pilot who suffered serious injuries has real possibilities. Perhaps a dangerous past or an incident caused him to wash out of the US pilot programs.
Scrap Iron could be incredible as well. You could do similar things with Heavy Metal. Character who deal with explosives could be very interested. Scrap Iron's perfectionist tendencies would be unique.
The name Pythona has come up a few times as a source for Serpentor. Costa could do really great things with that.
Costa could really run with Copperhead, as a dirty boat pilot/mercenary former seal.
Costa could present an interesting take on Dr. Venon or Scalpel (but that character may have been the Dixon contender for
On the Joe side, Airtight, Spirit, Spearhead (the point man), and Clutch would be great.

Wild Weasel, Scrap Iron, and Copperhead were my top three, and you nailed them here. Excellent.

Based on this article here, looks like COPPERHEAD will be showing up in either issue #1 or #2:

All they really need to do to Copperhead to make him cool is have him whup-ass with his fists. That it's set in Vietnam is crazy though.

I like Copperhead but he's kind of a blank slate to me. The only notable story I remember is the Phoenix Guard. Excited to see his personality expanded.

That's because Copperhead NEVER appeared in Larry's Marvel run.
ddp's "disavowed" series ONLY really introduced him in Phoenix Guard briefly.

Let's see what Costa can do with a clean slate!

Copperhead appeared in at least some side titles by DDP aside from Phoenix Guard. Really excited that Costa will take a crack at him. All I remember about his character is that he raced boats and was a gambler before joining cobra (according to his filecard). I love how Fuso draws his mask but wonder if he will adapt the rest of the uniform or just keep it as it was with the toy.

This is great! Flashback time: When I was a kid, all I wanted in 84 was the WHALE. I thought I had made a pact with my buddy to get me the WHALE for my birthday and I was going to get him the Dragonfly (I think). My birthday rolled around and I got the Water Moccasin instead. At the time it was a huge let down (granted for that birthday I also got the Slugger, Storm Shadow and Gung Ho... but I was pretty selfish back then). I ended up getting the WHALE for XMas though. So all was right in the world.

None the less, I am looking forward to Copperhead's use.

Dude, me too! I thought the Whale was the coolest thing ever. I saved up my paperroute money for a loooong time and finally bought it myself, and it lived up to the hype. But I had the Water Moccasin, too, and it was pretty cool. I loved Copperhead mostly because of his looks/helmet, and his boat was pretty awesome.
