That clinches the odds on the Ghost Variant, IMO. It looks like the Walking Dead ghost wasn't announced until its release date, along with a list of shops that would be stocking it.
I've already gone through the websites of each shop that carried the Walking Dead ghost variant and bookmarked all those that sell online and ship to Canada, so I'll be ready to order when this one makes an appearance. |

Did you base your stores on this page?
If you have more please let me know. I want to make sure I can purchase it ASAP as well. _________________

| To save many people time, could you post your list of online selling ghost retailers? |

| What would you say, beyond the obvious, is the biggest difference between being a story editor for Pony and Godzilla? |

Obviously the licenses are different genres, and require attention to different storytelling aspects, but there's not really any difference. With both books, I'm looking to help the creative team best tell their story, while making sure the licensors and fans are happy, as much as it's in my ability to do so. _________________ "I've lost all the hamburgers." |

Can you reveal the variant list for Issue 2 (and any other issues you can)?
Also, the comic was originally supposed to come out today. Would your day today have been any different if it had? _________________

FYI, the inital release date is almost never right... that's set as a placeholder months before work even begins on the issue, when we solicit. Pony looks like it will likely be the last week of every month. (though #2 will be Dec. 19th, due to the holiday)
But no, I doubt my day would be any different. Once a book is done on my end, it exits my head space. Too much other future stuff in there!! Not too many people talk to us secretive editors. I imagine Katie and Andy will have a lot of people shouting at them though!
For #2 covers, I think this is right...
-A-C: Katie Cook.
-RIA: Stephanie Buscema
-RIB: Katie Cook sketch covers.
(there's also temporary tattoos with this release)
RE covers:
-Double Midnight
-Dynamic Forces
-Hastings
-Midtown
-Larry's
-Jetpack
(both Jetpack and Larry's will also have a joint rough draft cover, and a blank sketch cover)
Hope that's clear... images should be available at most shops, hopefully we can release another guide. _________________ "I've lost all the hamburgers." |

In the previews, there are these items:
OCT120362 - My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic #2 10 Copy Incv
OCT120363 - My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic #2 25 Copy Incv
OCT120364 - My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic #2 50 Copy Incv
I assume that these are called RIA, RIB and RIC.
10 Copy Incentive seems consistent with Stephanie Buscema RIA cover and several retailers already offer it.
However there is a lot of confusion about the 25&50 copy incentives (RIB and RIC)
Your post mentions only one, yet there are two to order from Diamond.
Jetpack offers "My Little Pony #2 1:50 Hand Drawn Cover - $129.99 ships" for outrageous price and says "hand drawn Katie Cook, original art cover, may not be available until april or may 2013"
There is no mention of 1:25 anywhere, only Jetpack offers " My Little Pony #2 Temp Tattoos - $2.99 ships end of January maybe!" and confirms that it is not a comic book, but just tattoos.
Please enlighten us!
BTW, could IDW do anything about retailers ordering custom variant and then selling it for outrageous price only? $40 for blank sketch cover seems to be excessive. I understand high prices for X copy incentive variants, but the customs for more than $10-$20 is ridiculous. |

As a follow up to this, do you know anything about the Phantom Variant for Issue 2? Larry (of Larry's Comic) has openly stated that he planned on doing a Phantom Variant for Issues 2-4 of the comic (third post).
Does your list mean that there won't be a Phantom Variant or does the Phantom Variant work a little differently?
Also images/guide would be great! I'm actually curious what the other unrevealed covers for Issue 2 look like. _________________

I believe the blank sketch cover that was mentioned is the phantom |

I can assure you that it is not. It is quite literally just a blank variant (which other comics have done). _________________

Eagle, are you asking which issue of the first four is my favorite? Hard to say, each issue has things I really enjoy. Tends to be whichever issue I'm currently working on, in this case, number 3. There's some fun Pony pairings, and a great opening sequence that sheds some funny light on the villain's backstory.
Jano,
The ten copy incentive the Buscema (RIA), the 25 copy incentive is the temp. tattoos, and the 50 copy incentive is the Katie Cook sketch cover. It's confusing because the tattoos aren't a normal cover, but are listed in diamond the same way the covers are. Hopefully that clears things up.
There's nothing we can do about the prices on retail incentive or exclusive covers... that's the way they work, the retailer can set whatever price they want, thus the incentive for them to buy more copies. _________________ "I've lost all the hamburgers." |

Dewlynoted, I think the Larry's/Jetpack is the "phantom variant," but I''m not clear on what they're calling what, that's their perogative. They put in an order, and we complete it... they haven't asked us to specifically label it anything, so I don't have any insider information there, I'm afraid.
But if Larry is talking about a Pony #2 cover, then I would assume he's referring to his own. _________________ "I've lost all the hamburgers." |

Hm... that is interesting. This either means there won't be a Phantom Variant for Issue 2 or the Blank is indeed the Phantom Variant. I suppose that at this point, it's best to contact Larry regarding this.
Well in any case, thank you so much for your responses! I hope you can reveal what the various regular covers for Issue 2 look like soon. _________________
