Ehh...Interesting premise. I'm kind of curious as to how the "500 years in the future" segments are going to fit in with everything else, and I liked the Elite Force reference in this latest issue. It's also doing interesting things with Captain Picard's character.
I was not crazy about destroying Andoria as a means of proving that the Voldranaii were a threat. And the ending, with the tentacles, makes me concerned that Brannon Braga (who, after all, wrote both "Genesis" and "Threshold") might be allowing his evident love of body horror to infect his writing again. |

Well, just finished reading #4, and then reread 1-4.
Awful. How did it get the OK in the first place? I know there are some big names attached to the series, but that doesn't make up for a weak story and some Artwork that left a lot to be desired.

Loved the concept, hated the execution. The first issue was quite good, and I felt that it was really nice to actually develop the character of Captain Picard and what exactly assimiliation does to you psychologically.
However, the ending was super rushed (really, this should have been at least six issues long), there still wasn't a satisfactory explanation as to why the Queen sees a counterpart in Jean-Luc Picard, and the resolution was literally just a recycled plot device from Voyager. Plus, killing-off Seven and destroying Andoria were both just gratuitous wastes of characters.
Frankly, the whole thing seemed to be written like one of those old "imaginary story" Superman comics from the 1960s, and that's how I intend to view it. |

Was looking forward to this, but it was a bit of a rehash of what we've seen before, between the end of Voyager and First Contact. _________________ September 17, 1984. MTME Part I. The world changed forever.
