With all the Biollante love recently ( a new huge toy, first DVD release), it wouldn't surprise me to see her soon.
!

I think they have Biollante,
and I think Prof. Hikari in the on-going with ther love potion stuff is the perfect candidate to be mutated into Biollante for that continuity.

^ Maybe, but most likely not now. Maybe for the next 12 issue arc, though. Wink

Eh, Bobby did say that we'll be seeing a new monster in the current Ongoing. Not impossible. But still unlikely.

It be a bad move; it would destract from the alien invader direction that we've turned towards.

Well, they also mentioned there's nothing wrong with them having brief moments to themselves. Like Ebirah and Megalon of HCW, they didn't do anything to benefit its story telling, they were just there (from what I've heard). It's literally the scenario where you can stick any monster in their place, and there you have it.

I've noticed a LOT of fan-demand for Biollante, King Caesar, Baragon, and Varan (and a few more). Why are these guys so popular? Just curious.

Though I do want to see them all as well.

I hadn't seen many people asking for King Casear, but I'm definitely in the Baragon boat. He won me over in GMK, and retroactively made me a fan of his other iterations. (Not to mention the Ultra connections)... i also agree with antovald that he has huge potential (especially if you play up the tunneling ability)

As far as Varan and Biollante, they are both completely under represented and neither of them even got a nod during the monster melee montage that was Final Wars.

Honestly before IDW, Titanosaur was probably my least favorite kaiju, but all the amazing art we have gotten of him has bumped him a few notches... so maybe IDW could elevate other lower profile monsters as well.

I agree about Varan. He wouldn't even really be a Godzilla monster had it not been for that 3 second appearance in DAM.

Titanosaurus has always been among my favorites. I want to see more of him, actually.

For me, Anguirus, Varan, and Baragon all took the basic Godzilla design and morphed it into something creative. As for Ole' King Ceasar, he's a mammal in a world of reptile monsters, and as much as I love all of the reptiles I think the variety is needed. I like Biollante for various reasons: she's the only plant monster, she could fight several monsters at once, she vomits acid sap, and is pretty much immortal.

I forgot about this...

Quote:
Godzilla #8

Bullet points:
• Never-before-seen-in-comics Toho monsters appear in this issue!

So we'll get a new reveal by December. Unless it's one of the already-revealed monsters.

let's see?

King Caesar- his a golem diati, that's connected to the past. IDW can play with that.

Biollante- she's science gone horribly wrong. If IDW doesn't know how to use her? They don't deserve to write comics.

Varan- I think IDW has some creative freedom with him, also he has the whole Aino culture thing.

And Baragon is Baragon enough said. Very Happy
