From CBR:
| Quote: | Last week fans of Joe Hill's "Locke & Key" comic book series at IDW Publishing were given hope that the series might get another shot at a live-action adaptation when rumors swirled about Universal optioning the series with an eye toward developing it as a trilogy. Those hopes have been now confirmed, with io9 noting that writer/producer Roberto Orci corroborating the rumor via his twitter account.
"Locke & Key" was developed as a television pilot for FOX in 2011 but the network decided it ultimately did not fit on their schedule. Both SyFy and MTV flirted with reviving the project, developed by "The Terminator Chronicles'" Josh Friedman, but nothing ever came of it and the project seemed to be completely dead.
Universal plans to develop a three-feature adaptation of the series by Hill and artist Gabriel Rodriguez, to be written by "Star Trek" and "Transformers" screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who also served as producers on the pilot. There is no word on whether any of the cast from the pilot -- which included Mirando Otto, Nick Stahl and Jesse McCartney -- will return for the trilogy. |

What a plesant surprise!
I'm not opening the champagne bottle until I hear about the script being written, actors casted and production started, but it sounds good. |
