MAN, that is a bummer. That is made of ALL kinds of suck, in fact.

It's one of the stronger issues in the run - not to mention one helluva looker.

It may have helped the series end on a high note though. Legends #5 sold a bit better.

Sales numbers for Godzilla #2 are in...

June 2012
176/300 Godzilla #2 9,753
May 2012
175/300 Godzilla #1 11,994

The trade paperback collection of Godzilla: Legends had a nice debut...

132/300 GODZILLA LEGENDS TP 884

Very solid numbers! Remember Bobby said above to add 10% to the figures

Aslo quick question what is the 300? Is it number of IDW comics released or number of all Comics released for that Month by all companies?

Ah right, good question! The sales ranking listed is out of the Top 300 Comic sold during the given month (top 300 by number of issues sold). Likewise, there is a Top 300 Trade Paperback sales chart as well.

So Im understanding this correctly that the Top 300 comics sold include comics from Marvel, DC, Darkhorse, IDW and Image and not just limited to IDW?

If thats the case then Godzilla being about in the middle of the top 300 of ALL comics is very solid and very encouraging!

Ooopsie - I'm guilty of a bit of a knee jerk there - on closer inspection I see the gap between the two in sales isn't all that huge.

Yes sir, you are correct! And Godzilla indeed sells well for an indie-published comic!

I ought to chip in here and remind everybody that IDW have been a premier publisher for some time now.

I REALLY REALLY hope IDW looks at these numbers and says "Lets keep doing Godzilla comics for a long time!"

Interesting how Godzilla and Transformers almost seem to have the same numbers

Godzilla Legends #4 is, IMO, the best Godzilla comic ever made (not just by IDW). It's a shame to see that it sold poorly...

This seems to be following a similar pattern to the first 12 issues of KOM. Loosing 500+ reader per issue, though sadly starting from a far lower point. The mini's on the other hand Seem to start strong and remain on a more solid footing. That is a strong start for GHCW and I finially have one on the way through ebay. YIPPEE! (Sorry about that).

Sorry to say it once again but I really have always felt that IDW have excelled with the mini Series so far and dropped the ball on the ongoing. Maybe Godzilla is better suited to the mini, with it's fixed begining, middle and end than the sprawling ongoing with its distended plot threads.

Im sorry but no no NO. I enjoy having both on going and mini series and I prefer to keep both. I enjoy getting buying all these comics and reading them. To get rid of the on going series is just plain silly. I like being able to go every month and pick up multiple Godzilla comics.

Ultimately it all comes down to personnal preference and I can quite understand why many may take the opposite stance to my own opinion For me the quality speaks for its self. But again that's just my opinion
