Kaiju Combat is the potential new "Godzilla 4" Kickstarter project, by the team who brought us Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee (GCN, Xbox), Godzilla: Save the Earth (PS2, Xbox), and Godzilla: Unleashed (Wii, PS2)!

Law of diminishing returns withthese games Unleashed was the poorest of the 3. Looks interesting though I might donate come payday.

But the way things look, they won't be having it for the Wii. So as long as Goji sticks with controller-fighting without being rushed, I think we'll be okay.

With the way things are going, we won't be having the game at all, period, as it hasn't even broke the 10k amount yet....don't see how this will reach the $350,000 goal by the end of the month (I hope I am wrong...I really want to see this succeed).

It doesn't look so hot now, but that's because it hasn't got any media coverage... yet. Which it will.

Depending on which reports you read, probability says this project has a 30-40% chance of succeeding.

Look at SpaceVenture or Dead State. Or the nearly finished CLANG. They all got $300k+.

Double Fine Adventure, the highest funded project on Kickstarter was arguably a less tangible idea than Kaiju Combat. $3.3 million!

Shadowrun or Wasteland 2 - Their Kickstarters easily surpassed $1 million. Have you heard of any of them?

All these projects did that without the big-name possibility of Godzilla being in them. I think KC has a decent chance.

Another way might be cross promotion of characters -
Robot God Akamatsu
Kill All Monsters : http://www.facebook.com/killallmonsters
GRW : http://www.facebook.com/pages/Giant-Robot-Warrior-Maintenance-Crew-GRWMC/188205637877544
American Kaiju : http://americankaiju.kaijuphile.com/main.shtml

We all have kaijus, why not treat the game as an "IMAGE COMICS" like game platform whereas characters from various comics like our own are also in the game to fight against their monsters.

We all own the copyrights for our respective characters and any future profits can be done as a fair and reasonable percentage off the sales etc.
I personally would love to see some of me and Jame's daikaijus in the game and our fans would dig it as well.
We live in a time know where there's strength in numbers and I'm a strong believer that anything can be negotiated if people are upfront and fair. I also would hate to see this concept not happen because of low donations. It's a great chance for indie kaijus to come together in a game.
This is just another option to consider.

I wish Matt and the Team all the luck in getting it done Very Happy

I really love the Dublar and Yeti character- Very cool designs.
I really hope that the contribution mark is reached, so this can be a reality.
Are there any plans for mech-kaijus?

I know, I hope so too.

I'm sure mech-kaijus are planned, it's Matt Frank we're talking about!

Update #4 - $100 donation now gets you all Kaiju Combat games, design team log-in, HD wallpaper, and a Logtiech gamepad:

Pretty good deal that.

New direction for Kaiju Combat made:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/14214732/kaiju-combat/posts/270210

If you contribute any amount, you now get an exclusive HD wallpaper by Matt Frank whether the project meets its funding goal or not. Essentially a free HD wallpaper by Matt Frank, since no funds will be transferred if they don't reach their goal (which at this point it likely won't but that's not stopping them)! They still need backers!

There will be a new Kickstarter in a few months with $100,000 goal. A few people who pay $500 through PayPal get to work with Matt Frank and Simon Strange on your original monster to be used to promote the game.

Also, the funds raised through PayPal will be used to create a website/forum/new video dedicated to Kaiju Combat.

Bob Eggleton has joined the Kaiju Combat team! Donate today! They won't meet their $350k goal, so you won't lose a dime, but you will be showing your support and get a FREE WALLPAPER BY MATT FRANK!

Kaiju Combat is back!

With new original monster art by Matt Frank, Bob Eggleton still on board, and a much more attainable funding goal, it's time to see this happen:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/14214732/kaiju-combat-giant-monsters-awesome-fighting-onlin

Please pledge and spread the word. This game could let us see Godzilla vs. Gamera vs. Ultraman vs. Cthulhu!

I'd want it on Wii U or 3DS, something I own (or will own.)
I love the Macrosaurus design.
