IDW is going to be publishing a comic based on the new Battle Beasts toyline from Diamond Select Toys (based upon the classic 80s toyline from Takara/Hasbro)!
Awesome sauce indeed! I'm a huge fan of Battle Beasts!

I wish I knew someone going to C2E2 who could grab me one of the ashcan comics!
Battle Beasts! Rock on! |

This sounded excellent right up until they mentioned earth, then I lost all interest. Best of luck anyway IDW.[/url] _________________ If I ever say anything interesting then it's Ok to print. |

Rush to judgement much?
I don't understand how the setting would cause you to write off the entire series. But, alas, such is internet fandom. |

Usually I'm not one to judge something so soon, so please don't rush into throwing me in with the rest of "internet fandom". I was so excited when I first heard IDW were doing this, but the premise has been done to death. Creating a whole new world with its own history and mythology without involving the cliched "aliens coming to earth" plot would have been far more interesting and original.
I hope people do enjoy it and best of luck to IDW with it. _________________ If I ever say anything interesting then it's Ok to print. |

Looking forward to this. While I only own one little mole figure that I found lying around my school one day,I can't help but feel a little giddy about this.
Anywho, anyone else here old enough to remember this classic commercial for the line ?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5O26Dtubh0
Seems like these guys came and went as fast a they appeared. It wasn't until I started getting on the net that I found out their history with the Transformers franchise, at least the Japanese HEADMASTERS series. Or the popularity they also enjoyed across the pond. Too bad these guys aren't involved with the Transformers any more, with TF:More Than Meets The Eye setting in space, it would've made an easy place for the two franchsies to meet again, for the first time.
Also here's some stuff for those not too familiar with these antagonistic anamorphs. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Battle_Beasts

True, but just because a premise has been "done to death" doesn't preclude it from being good in it's own right. Have you read the ashcan? It's up on the new BB site:

The ashcan reads quite well (and I love the art), but then the last panel just totally puts me off the entire concept. With comics costing what they do these days I'm afraid a comic has to grab me for me to stump up the money.
However, as with all comics I'll keep an eye on reviews and responses and maybe pick an issue up cheap down the line and see how things turn out. _________________ If I ever say anything interesting then it's Ok to print. |

| Excellent mini. Well written by Bobby Conrow and Valerio Schiti's art was a sight to behold. Hopefully, there's more to come. Please. Please. Please. |
