I would like a Cabbalistics, Inc and Nikola Dante trade collection please!
(and for Cabbalistics, Inc, PLEASE include the last few issues unlike the other trade collection - there was about 3 issues in the story left but not enough for a third trade so they've never been released!).
Will the released be colourised or just fresh B&W? IMO keep it B&W. _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

"I'm really excited about (...) taking that classic material and doing really nice, high end or maybe colored versions of these things for the first time."
Ryall said the selection of stories and the formats for any reprint editions have not yet been settled on, but IDW's current platform should give an indication of the publisher's plans for "Judge Dredd" archival editions. "I liken this one to what we've done with 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,' where (...) we've got a good reprint program going where we've got the deluxe versions of the Eastman-Laird stuff, we've got trade paperbacks -- we're also coloring some of the old material," Ryall told CBR. "We're going to do some of that stuff here. We'll do some books where we just spotlight some of the great creators who have done the property, we'll look to do some of the bigger stories or just chronologically... there's so much we can do with that wealth of material. I'm really looking forward to getting started." |

I haven't been watching the comic news sites, has it been mentioned what month the first book will be out (whether reprint or new material) _________________ "Running away with a Spaceman in a box, anything could happen to you" |

I'm about as excited about IDW getting their hands on Dredd as I can possibly get. Cannot wait to see what you guys do with this! _________________ Check out my page on DA http://hde2009.deviantart.com/

Some words from Ryall, on the BleedingCool forums:

At no point did I ever say any such thing. However, I would like to remove British dread over us not understanding the character, but I realize that only the coming comics themselves can do that. As it should be.
If Mark Millar can write Spider-Man and Garth Ennis can write the Punisher and Keanu Reeves can play John Constantine (err, wait), I think we should be over the whole "the people on the other side of the pond don't get our characters as well as we do" thing.
Now I should get back to plotting out our big "Dredd at Disneyland" kick-off storyline for our US readers. |

Agreed. As someone who's new to Judge Dread, I'm more interested in the reprints of old material than anything else _________________ "Running away with a Spaceman in a box, anything could happen to you" |

JUDGE DREDD: THE COMPLETE BRIAN BOLLAND
• Mega-City One, 2099. This vast urban nightmare has sprung up from the post-aploalyptic
ashes of North America's east coast. Each of the 400 million citizens based there is a
potential criminal and only the Judges can prevent total anarchy. These future lawmen are
judge, jury, and executioner. Toughest of them all is Judge Dredd — he is the Law!
• By the end of 1977 Brian Bolland was regularly handling art chores for John Wagner's
scripts on Judge Dredd. All told, he illustrated 19 stories. Judge Dredd: The Complete Brian
Bolland collects these stories in oversized format, featuring meticulous modern coloring by
Charlie Kirchoff.

That's a MUST BUY!
And Charlie Kirchoff's got lots of experience, colouring black/white comics, from IDW's Doctor Who Classics.
So no need to worry about modern colours overpowering the lines either.
The only downside might be that we wont be getting complete stories, since Judge Dredd is done with rotating artists (atlest in mine old comics). |
