Looks great! This is the "one and done" issue after the second arc right?

Here's the preview: http://www.newsarama.com/php/multimedia/album.php?aid=46154

Yes. And it has ramifications that shall be felt FOR ALL TIME!

Well, a couple of arcs, anyway.

Egon's my favorite of the four Ghostbusters, so while I don't think he should be front and center in every story (there's three other totally awesome Ghostbusters, after all) I certainly can't complain about giving him a "solo" story once in a while. Looking forward to seeing what happens.

Everyone's going to get focused on from time to time. Ray's important to the plot of the first arc, Peter gets some solo spotlight in #7, Egon in #8... Winston and Janine will have their time. It's a nice breather in an otherwise ensemble to break things down a bit. (:

Oh, intriguing. I figured it would be just a big film noir homage based on the cover. Though the whole "The Man Who Holds the Hands of Death" reminded me of hand of glory. And that device in Egon's trench coat pocket seems familiar.

Looking at the last part of the logline for Issue #8 had me a little lost.

"The spotlight is on Egon Spengler as he tracks down a paranormal entity - one that has ties to his past - to discover the true source of the city's abnormally high P.K.E. levels! The grand finale to the second arc of the hit ongoing series!"

So is #8

a) A one-shot

b) Part four of the second arc

c) An epilogue for the first two arcs (Issue #4 did end in a 'To Be Continued') and paves the way for a brand new arc that doesn't follow through from past arcs and Infestation?

d) all of the above

#8

Is mostly standalone. There's a bust and then Egon goes off and solves something on his own.

It does play into the second arc (though, if one were to NOT get #8, #5-7 would still read fine. And if one were to get #8 and not #5-7, I don't think there would be a ton of confusion. At least, I hope not.)

I guess that sort of makes it D by default.

(And To Be Continued was at the end of #4 mostly so that people who don't follow solicits would think to look for #5!)

I see. Thanks!

Ha, right on. I thought it'd be a 'Next Issue' sorta deal for the end of #4.

That is a phenomenal looking cover.

I am really looking forward to this series more and more with each passing issue.

+1 who's favorite Ghostbuster has always been Egon. Even as a little kid, he was my favorite. Each has their place, but I'm especially looking forwad to this issue. Wonder if it has anything to do with the computer program he wrote that we just found out about?

Previews has the release date now set for April 18th. Until the 'New Releases' page updates for about two weeks before the release date, you can keep looking at the 'Chase/Variant' page to get a look at the next two issues.

For instance, right now, Issue #9 is set for May 2nd but by April, it'll probably be set in stone at May 16th. But since Issue #9 has the 50/sketch cover variant it may be pushed back further since the same thing happened with #1.

There's three. The most seen are Cover A and RI. Cover B has only been sighted once from what I recall when Chris Ryall tweeted last month: http://twitter.com/#!/chris_ryall/status/181842225620205568/photo/1
