Today I got my copy of the TF classics volume 1 (the latest edition that features Marvel characters) and what I wonder is this:

1. Why is digital re-master so sloppy? Some errors are fixed, some aren't, some things are baffling (Red, gray and white Soundwave at the end of issue 6)...

2. Why are inks thicker?
Example:

I kinda wondered about the thick inking myself. They don't look natural as if someone drew over everything with a black Crayola marker. The new colorization I do like as I'm not fond of the pixel dots of old.

Some ideas to improve the comic: One: Drift needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Two: whenever Drift's not in an issue, all the other characters should be asking "Where's Drift"?

If it's what I'm thinking of, it's the reproduction source material.
Since the Titan books were able to use the original artwork for the reprints, there's very little, if any, change from the original floppies to the TPB form.
I'm guessing (so don't take it as gospel) that IDW isn't able to use the original artwork and have to go about it in the same manner that they're reprinting the Classic G.I. Joe stuff (from vols. 6 and up), which is why some things look different in the newer trade.
I know when I color stuff B&W artwork in Photoshop, I use a top layer that is multiplied that will thicken the lines a bit. Maybe this is what was done?
